Before you say ‘gross’ read this….

There are three Microdermabrasion filters here.

1 - A client who uses all the skin care and gadgets at home, but who I haven’t seen for three months due to scheduling conflicts

Microdermabrasion is such a tremendous tool for us to use as Estheticians. Although you may be doing it right at home, observe the build up on these filters. Can you guess whose filter was #1? I’ll give you a hint, it’s the loaded one!

Did you know that your cleanser makes up for about 80% of the condition of your skin?

What’s that mean?

Well, if you’re experiencing dryness, flakiness or rough texture, redness, acne, or even oily skin - it could be your cleanser.

As an Esthetician, when a client comes in with a skin concern, I always ask “what are you washing your face with?”

Soaps that foam more often than not have surfactants in them. These wonderful little ingredients alkalize (aka soften and lift) dirt and debris off the skin - but as helpful as they are, they could be leaving your skin in an alkalized state.

Did you know most cleansers aren’t removing all your makeup?

You should be makeup removing prior to washing your face - but hold it! Makeup wipes will be the death of the moisture in your skin.

Using a specific makeup-removing oil (yes, even for you oily skin folks) will safely and gently remove all the makeup, then cleanse with an acid-balancing cleanser complimentary to your skin type and condition.
