Breathwork and Meditation Guide, Reiki Master Teacher, RYT 200.
Slow Soulful Sunday is coming.
Come join us as we breathe consciously, move with intention, hold resting poses that allow our bodies to open, and end with an extended savasana with hands on adjustments.
Honor your body and its need to slow down, open up and decompress.
Classes will be led by a rotation of four teachers -- Tiffany Curren, Emily Shefferman, Ken Mather and Nicole Rose. Our first class is on Sunday, September 8th at 4 pm. All are welcome. No experience necessary.

Building strength is good for our bones, our muscles, functional movement, and more.
If we do it right, it doesn’t take a lot of time, it doesn’t require lifting heavy weights, and it can be fun.
I’ll be teaching this class beginning in February. It’s a short class that will take us through a gentle flow.
https://zendenyoga.taramala.com/classes?classId=3478
We’ll hold each pose for enough time that we feel our muscles, have to dig into the breath to continue holding, and get stronger. We will also increase balance by strengthening our stabilizing muscles, and we’ll teach our core to engage through everything.
It’s just 30 mins long. I think we can do anything for 30 mins. Come give it a try. Zen Den is at 518 Main Street, Boonton

Here's a free breath work session. I taught this class in 2021 at Frequency Breathwork. The opening leans into grief. Enjoy (then come do breathwork with me in February).

#2024
The marking of a new year creates the space for us to feel like we are starting over. I’m not talking resolutions or vision boards, just a big sigh and a “begin again” opportunity. We always have this as an option, but the changing of the year feels like a natural time to start fresh.
If you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve taken (or wanted to take) a class with me before. I am back to teaching in January, would love to see you.
In January, I’ll be teaching one weekly class and two pop-ups at Zen Den Yoga & Wellness. If the classes are well attended, they will continue. I haven’t taught anything in so long, so this is me putting my toe back in the water to see who wants to take classes, and which.
My belief is that you know your body better than anyone else does, and I trust that you know what you need. With that, my classes are focused on slowing down and being in your body, allowing your breath to lead the movement. It’s not a fast class, it won’t feel difficult, so if you are looking for a power class, mine aren’t that.
My classes are about being present in your body, sitting with what comes up, and tuning in to what you need.
I hope to see you in January, not because it’s a resolution but because it’s a good time to come to your mat.
It’s really always a good time, you know. 😉

WE GET TO CHOOSE.
(mostly)
When life gets hard, we can choose how we will handle it.
I know some folks who have it really fc***ng hard right now and have no choice but to take the next available step.
If you don’t have a choice, if your sh*tty job pays your bills and you have to stay, I get that, too. Some things we can’t choose. We can’t choose to miraculously heal our bodies from disease, we can’t choose our family of origin, we can’t choose to live in a perfect and kind world.
But if it’s just the usual type of hard, if the people who surround you suck, or the friendships you have are draining, or you need an outlet for your anxiety then, like I do, you get to choose.
We get to choose.
Make choices that support your best life. Step away from chaos, the drama, and people who don’t respect you.
Choose to find good things, take space, and support and nurture your needs. You matter.

How I Got Here & Why I’d Like You To Join Me
When I was just a small girl, my family and I visited my Aunt Prabha at an ashram in Connecticut. I was standing outside in the sun, when an old man with a long beard approached me. He knelt down, smiled at me, and then lifted me high above his head. As his smile widened, he bestowed upon me the name Shakti Prema. This loosely translates to divine love, or divine light. The man was spiritual master, Swami Satchidananda, the founder of Integral Yoga®, and I believe this moment was divine. It altered my trajectory and landed me on a path of spirituality based healing modalities. Yet, it wasn’t until I was in my thirties that I began helping others learn how to transform themselves.
My path began with fitness. In 2006, knowing that health was my ultimate guide, I got certified though ACE as a personal trainer and, after realizing that I wanted to teach groups, I got group fitness certified. I worked with pre- and post-natal women, with women who felt uncomfortable at the gym and wanted to stay fit through pregnancy, training with Julie Tupler in NYC to learn her famed Tupler Technique.
As my work deepened, I learned that the people I worked with wanted — more than to be thin or fit — to feel empowered, and that their struggles weren’t with their bodies as much as they were with the messages that they told themselves.
