Sarah Djari is an accomplished impact investor bringing 2 decades of private investment experience in emerging markets, focusing on channeling public and private capital in Financial Inclusion, Agri & Climate Finance.

She's an External Member, of the Impact Investment Committee of The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund.

Sarah started her career with the global strategy consulting firm Bain & Company, where she specialized in manufacturing operational efficiency, Tech & Telecom, and Private Equity.

Sarah has an MSc in Astrophysics & Nuclear Physics from Saclay University & Imperial College as well as an MSc in Engineering from CentraleSupélec. She is also a 2x Gender Lens Investing fellow and an alumnus of The Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Solomon Adegbie-Quaynor is the Vice President for Private Sector, Infrastructure & Industrialization at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB). He joined AfDB in May 2020. He has over 25 years of experience in development finance and investment banking.

From 2018-2020 after Mr. Quaynor left IFC to join the private sector, he provided specialized advisory services in emerging markets as Senior Advisor to Rothschild Global Advisory for Africa (excluding SA); Senior Advisor to IFU (Danish DFI) for sub-Saharan Africa; Investment Committee member and Senior Advisor to a $350 million African PE Fund; Senior Advisor to an African infrastructure fund; and, served on the boards of InfraCredit Nigeria and Verdant Ventures.

Mr. Quaynor is a graduate of the J L Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He also holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a BS in Applied Physics from Atlanta University Center.

Dominic O' Neill has been the Executive Director of the UN’s The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF) since its inception.

Dominic worked for the UK Government as a senior civil servant in the Department for International Development as Country Director in Yemen (2003-06), Sierra Leone (2008-11), Nepal (2011-13) and as Head of the UN Department.

He then served as the UK’s Executive Director of the African Development Bank Group (2013-2016) under Dr Kaberuka and then Dr Adesina. He was also the Global COO of WWF International from 2017-2020.

Prof. Katrin Kuhlmann is a Visiting Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center and Faculty Co-Director of the Center on Inclusive Trade and Development.

She is also the President and Founder of the New Markets Lab, a non-profit law and development lab, and a former trade negotiator who has held senior positions in think tanks and NGOs.

Her research and teaching focus on law and development, international trade law, comparative economic law, trade and gender, agriculture and food security, and regional trade agreements, and she is published widely in these areas.

Prof. Kuhlmann is also a Senior Associate with the Global Food Security Project of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and she serves on the Trade Advisory Committee on Africa at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the Trade and Investment Law Group of the Law Schools Global League, and the Forum on Trade, Environment & the SDGs (TESS).

She holds a law degree from Harvard Law School and was a Fulbright scholar in international economics.

Alex Wong has over 30 years’ professional experience in a series of leadership roles that has consistently focused on building partnerships to address the world’s biggest development challenges.

Alex currently serves in the Executive Office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies.

From 2019-2022, Alex served as Senior Strategy Advisor and Chief, Special Initiatives, in the Office of the Director of the Telecommunications Development Bureau (BDT).

From 1988-2000, Alex worked in a variety of professional roles at Accenture as a Strategy Consultant, General Motors as a Quality Control Engineer, and the US National Parks Service.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University.

For many years, she was Member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum, where she led the economics unit.
She is lead author of The Global Competitiveness Report, The Global Risks Report in addition to other benchmarking reports of the World Economic Forum.

She advised government agencies, ministers, national competitiveness councils and the private sector in the Arab World and worldwide on how to manage global risks, improve competitiveness, boost exports and investment, or measure impact.

She is a regular speaker at high level conferences and events, including World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, IMF/WB Annual Meetings in Washington DC, sessions of the UN General Assembly in NY, etc. and serves as expert for media (BBC, CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, etc)

Shanta Devarajan is Professor of the Practice of International Development at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where he teaches development policy, fragility and conflict, and climate change.

He is also an advisor to the governments of Maldives and Sri Lanka and to the Ebony Center in South Sudan.

He spent 28 years at the World Bank, where he was the Senior Director for Development Economics, the Chief Economist of the South Asia, Africa, and Middle East and North Africa regions and of the Human Development Network, and Research Manager for Public Economics.
Before joining the World Bank, he was on the faculty of Harvard Kennedy School.

Born in Sri Lanka, Shanta received his A.B. in mathematics from Princeton University and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

PROF. JOÃO BOSCO MONTE is the Founder and President of the Brazil Africa Institute.

He holds PhD in Education from the Federal University of Ceará and Postdoctoral studies from the University of Brasilia (UNB), with a research on the African integration.

He is the General Coordinator of the Africa Forum.

He is a Visiting Professor at renowned Brazilian and African universities and a Senior International Associate at the Center for African, Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CALACs) at Jindal Global University (India).

In 2018, he received the Commendation of the Order of Rio Branco, a distinction granted by the Brazilian government, in recognition of his merits in promoting relations between Brazil and Africa.

In 2020, he was invited to join the UN Food Systems Summit, acting globally to raise awareness of the needs to ensure global food security as a way to achieve sustainable development.

Mr. Jinkang WU 吴晋康 joined the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China in 1989.

Throughout his entire career in M*F from 1989 to 2012, Mr. Wu served as the deputy director of the Program Division in the World Bank Department, the Director of the IFIs Division, and the Deputy Director-General of the International Department.

After working for over 23 years, Mr. Jinkang Wu retired from M*F and took a new position in the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in January 2013, where he served as Chief, of Asia and the Pacific Liaison Office within the Partnership and Resource Mobilization Office and Special Adviser to the President.

While in IFAD, Mr. Wu played a critical role in securing the support of IFAD Member States from Asia and the Pacific region for both the 10th and 11th Replenishment Consultation of IFAD Financial Resources in 2014 and 2017 respectively.

Since his retirement from IFAD in December 2017, Mr. Wu once worked for CAREC Institute and African Risk Capacity as a short-term international consultant.

Mr. Wu holds a Master of Arts in Western Linguistics and English Literature from Peking University in Beijing, China.

Lesley Ndlovu is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group), based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Lesley spent close to a decade in various senior management roles in insurance and asset management with the AXA Group in London, Paris, and Singapore, including as CEO of a Lloyd’s of London insurance syndicate, Head of Corporate Development for AXA Global Asset Management and Chief Investment Officer for AXA Singapore.

Lesley is a graduate of the University of Oxford in England and INSEAD in France. He is a CFA charter holder, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, an Associate in Reinsurance with the CPCU Society, and a member of the Institute of Directors.
