I went into with some digestion issues and hip pain and a lot of fear - needles are NOT my thing. At each of my 3 visits Jess went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and relaxed and I noticed less bloating and a happier stomach after the very first visit and my hip has noticeably improved each week!
Highly recommend both and and bonus!! They have infrared lights!

Not sure where to begin with a workout routine? That's what I’m here for!
If you, like many people, are looking to begin working out but are not sure where to start, don't stress! The internet is full of confusing - and often conflicting - information and it can be hard to w**d through it all to find what is "best" for you, your lifestyle, and your goals.
That is why I do an assessment with every client before they book any sessions. We cover lots of information: sleep, stress levels, food intake, past and current injuries, exercise history, and then of course - your goals! I also walk you through a few basic movements so I can see how your body moves and make exercise suggestions. Even if you aren't sure about personal training, it never hurts to do an assessment to get some feedback and direction.

Have you heard of SMART goals? And no, I'm not talking about the opposite of stupid... SMART stands for the following: specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timebound.
Making sure that your goals meet this criteria sets you up for success! Let's look at an example: "losing weight" vs "lose 10 pounds of fat by June 1." The first goal is a good starting point - but it doesn't meet the SMART criteria. Adding in more details makes your goal more concrete.
Lose 10 pounds of fat by June 1:
✅ Specific, 10 pounds of fat
✅ Measureable, you can utilize a body fat scantron to check your body fat percentage currently and then again at the end
✅ Attainable, giving this client 3 full months to reach this goal
✅ Realistic, losing 3-4 pounds per month is within a normal range and won't hinder lifestyle too drastically
✅ Timebound, 3 months, which gives us a good end date to reassess!
Detail-driven goals are the key to success!
Let's talk about setting goals...
Frequently new clients come in with huge goals. Sometimes it's a weight loss goal, a specific weight they want to lift, or a number of steps they want to get daily. While I love to hear all about it and understand it might be their reason for showing up, I often ask them to break down that big goal into smaller goals - at least to start!
During those first few days when motivation is high it can feel easy to tackle that big goal. But what about days when it’s hard? The struggle begins when that starting motivation diminishes or disappears and you need those small goals to help you continue. When the motivation starts to slip, and along with it the drive for that big goal, the smaller goals still feel achievable and you can stick with it. Little steps help improve your health and get you that much closer to that big goal!
Need ideas for good small starting goals? Here are a few of my favorites:
-2 cups of veggies per day
-yoga or mobility work
-daily walks (even just 10-15 minutes!)
-8 cups of water per day
Disclaimer: By no means am I trying to get rid of your big goal! It is very important but for days when progress isn’t as fast as you want, it’s also important to celebrate the little successes!

For those of you who don't know me - my name is Elissa. I've been a trainer for the last 3 years and have been in and out of gyms training myself for the last 10. I've dabbled in and out of kettlebell training, performance and power, powerlifting, and even trained for a few 5ks (hard to believe, for those of you who know me!).
Many (many) years ago, I had a trainer in college who introduced me to strength training and I fell in love immediately. Not only with the strength, but with the entire process, the changes in my body, and most importantly the confidence and positive mindset that came with it. That is why I became a trainer. I want to bring that positive feeling to as many people as possible.
I know starting out can be scary. I know that it can be uncomfortable. But I'm here to help. Whether your goals are focused around weight loss, muscle gain, performance, power, strength, functionality, mobility... let's do it.
I'm offering sessions virtually, in person at a private studio, as well as house visits. Assessments are ALWAYS free, so reach out to set one up!
