Dropped off a bunch of orders to Home.stead bakery & cafe this morning! More and more people are doing something about their plastic waste from groceries! Thank you on behalf of ourselves and the planet! You know...while you're at Home.stead...you could get yourself a treat while you're at it.....? Yum!

Looking for a treat without the tricks? Try these mini chocolate pretzels we get from a local company in Auburn Ma. Sweet and salty and oh so good.

All this beautiful weather and gorgeous foliage is a great reason to go hiking. Why not bring some Trail Mix along? Organic Antioxidant Trail mix is sure to satisfy with raisins, pumpkin seeds, almonds, dried cranberries, walnuts, mulberries, and goji berries. You can pick it up with your order of groceries at Cleenland when you order by noon on Wednesday and pickup on Friday.

#1 - Use a costume swap for your kids! Most of the zero waste stores in the area are hosting these swaps.
#2 - Make sure to compost your pumpkin!
#3 - Don't buy cheap, commercial chocolate! These companies use child labor to pick their cacao beans. It's cheap at the expense of children where child labor laws wouldn't allow their working here. Buy responsible chocolate or don't buy chocolate. Candy in small cardboard boxes is a good solution.

These stories sicken me as, what right do we have to do this to other animals on this planet? Dolphins are one of my favorite sea animals and they are being forced to breathe in and out our . We have to at least try to make this right!

/ Basil is here! I believe "holy" is the best name for it because it is so gloriously there for me when I have one of those days. It's a staple of medicine and heals in so many ways. In late September, California took a major step to address clothing waste by passing the . This initiative aims to combat the growing environmental impact of textile disposal, particularly in the fashion industry, which contributes approximately 10% of global carbon emissions—more than even the aviation sector.
The importance of reusing and recycling textiles cannot be overstated. California's new law draws inspiration from France, which was a pioneer in 2007 with its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law for textiles. France’s law requires producers to take responsibility for the waste management of their products. Since then the Netherlands and the European Union have implemented similar measures to tackle fashion waste, exacerbated by the rise of fast fashion. Go Cali!
