Improv Asylum’s Music Director Steve Sarro invites you to join him for the milestone 40th birthday celebration he always wanted but never got due to factors both external (COVID lockdown) and internal (failing to achieve his major life ambitions on time). Sharing stories and songs from the most memorable times in his life, Steve reflects on his early childhood dancing in high heels to Tina Turner songs, his teenage years channeling his secret inner drag queen into a more socially acceptable angsty goth aesthetic, and his adulthood full of turbulent unrequited crushes on straight men both famous and infamous. Come raise a glass with the birthday boy!

Weekly performances, teaching opportunities, AND a paycheck? All that and more comes with being on one of our casts.

Improv Asylum is seeking talented improvisers and comedians for our NXT Cast and also our upcoming holiday production Twas! We are ideally looking for performers with improv experience, but are happy to see auditioners that have a knack for comic timing and can think quickly on their feet (and on stage). Performers with sketch writing or stand-up backgrounds and musical abilities are also strongly encouraged to apply.

General Auditions will be held on Monday, August 19th Auditions will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Improv Asylum! Those asked to return for a callback will need to be available on Tuesday, August 20, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.

OPEN AUDITIONS 🚨 Pudgie’s Roadhouse is the first Karaoke Jukebox Musical (that we know of anyways) in the world. The show will be a mix of a traditional theatrical performance, improvised moments, and most importantly, most of the songs are sung by audience members (with help and backing from the cast.)

We are looking for some powerful singers that can play the parts of Pudgie (the matron of the bar) and cast members that play the roadhouse's security and bar patrons.
