One of my favorite perks for moms is my client closet!

I have over 200 dress options in a wide range of sizes for moms (and any other family members) to borrow from on session day.

I have selected pieces that I feel are flattering on camera and photograph well in my all white studio.

For maternity sessions I have a variety of white, black and lace maternity dresses, custom maternity gowns, bump friendly maxi dresses and lace robes.

For new moms I have dresses selected to be comfortable and flattering post partum.

Together we will select wardrobe pieces that fit your style preferences and best flatter your body type and coloring.

My hope is that having access to my client closet saves you time, money and stress when it comes to figuring out what to wear for photos!

Rather than including a theme and decorations, my cake smashes feature a small simple cake and baby sitting in an antique white high chair. This allows your baby and their reactions to the cake to really be the focus!

Big brother was with us at the studio for the first 30 minutes or so, then went off with his nanny to give baby sister some time to shine.

For newborns, I offer the option of doing your session at my studio or at your home.

The advantages of my studio? Wardrobe for mom. Lots of natural light. Simple, neutral backgrounds and bedding. No need to get the house ready. There is room for extended family and dogs are welcome. I am centrally located in the Back Bay, within walking distance or a short drive of the Back Bay, the South End, Fenway, Beacon Hill, Cambridge, Charlestown and Jamaica Plain.

The advantages of in home? No need to navigate packing up and getting out of the house with a newborn. Easier on moms who may be having a tougher recovery physically. Allows us to include your nursery and other areas of your home in your photos. I bring blankets and wraps for photographing baby to your home!

As a first time parent it is hard to anticipate what the first few weeks at home with a newborn will look like so when you book a session with me you do not need to make a final decision on the location of your session until after your baby arrives.

And with both in home and studio newborn sessions, you can expect to receive classic, timeless newborn portraits like these!

So exactly how does an in home newborn session work?

When baby is between 2 and 4 weeks old we arrange a weekday morning for me to come to your home. I arrive with a newborn posing pillow, blankets, wraps, a few simple accessories and camera gear for photographing baby.

I take a quick tour of the house and we decide which areas will work best for pictures. Often this is the nursery and parent's bedroom but sometimes a beautiful window, living area or outdoor area are added to the mix.

I will find an area with good natural light to set up my newborn posing pillow and blankets. If necessary we will do a quick declutter of areas we will be using for photos.

From there we will follow baby's lead. If baby is sleepy we start with pictures of baby sleeping. If baby is looking to be held we start with pictures with parents. If baby is hungry we take a feeding break.

The whole session takes between one and two hours and is a relaxed way to document your first days falling in love with your new baby!

So exactly how does a studio newborn session work?

At my studio I have 100+ dress options for mom, everything needed to photograph baby (blankets, wraps, headbands, flowers), baby essentials like a changing table stocked with extra diapers and wipes and new parent essentials like cold drinks, snacks and hot tools for hair touchups.

I will start the session by meeting your baby and helping you find just the right dress. If you prefer to wear your own outfit, that is fine too!

Next I will transition the baby from their car seat and comfortably swaddle them. From here we will follow baby's lead. If baby is sleepy, we will start with pictures of baby sleeping in various wrapped and unwrapped poses on my newborn posing pillow. If baby is looking to be held, we will start with pictures with parents. If baby is hungry, we take a feeding break.

The entire session takes between one and two hours and is a relaxed natural way to document your first days falling in love with your new baby!

Unsure if maternity photos are for you?

I offer full and petite maternity session options.

The full session includes about an hour in the studio, multiple outfits and 30+ final photos.

The petite session includes 15 minutes of photography time and full access to my studio wardrobe. This option is a perfect fit if you prefer a shorter session or need only a small number of digital files.

All maternity sessions include:
-Hands on styling. Together we will select wardrobe pieces that best flatter your body type and coloring.
-Hands on posing. I will provide direction in terms of flattering posing and angles, adjust hair, etc.
-Retouching. Any problem areas are blended, smoothed, and touched up as need. Anything that distracts from the absolute miracle of the fact that you are growing a human life is minimized so you can fully appreciate the amazing thing your body is doing!
