We have been very busy with a data mining tool that Hal created. We use it to find comments in Remembrance posts that have family members listed. Those original comments are not necessarily on the main Remembrance page. Adding family names is a key part of the use of this tool

We find obituary notices, details from family or KVETS like this one Ted found on July 9th 2024.

in 1950, the defense of the Pusan Perimeter begins

The Battle of the Pusan Perimeter was a large-scale battle between United Nations Command (UN) and North Korean forces that lasted from August 4 to September 18, 1950. The battle was one of the first major engagements of the Korean War. Having been pushed to the brink of defeat, 140,000 UN troops rallied to make a final stand against the invading Korean People's Army (KPA), 98,000 men strong.

In the end, the Division suffered 650 casualties and 1,866 wounded as it valiantly defended the perimeter.
