Indonesia is relatively unknown to most Americans despite the fact that it has one of the largest economies in the world. Why is this the case? What is the state of US-Indonesia relations, and what potential role can Indonesia play in world?

We’ll explore these questions on September 11th when we host former Ambassador to Indonesia Robert O. Blake Jr. for a Great Decisions program at the Boston Public Library. This event will feature an expert conversation, a live audience Q&A, and time for networking with other attendees in the Newsfeed Cafe.

See Citizen Diplomacy in action! Last Thanksgiving, an IVLP delegation from across Africa focused on Youth and Civic Engagement participated in Dinner Diplomacy on Thanksgiving with host Vedna Heywood and her family in Plymouth. Over the last 8 months, Ms. Heywood has continued collaborating with one of her dinner guests, Alex Matere, of Kenya. Matere has now invited Ms. Heywood to give the keynote address at the Pan African Youth Convention in Kenya this month (Learn more here: https://buff.ly/45KZSuH)! Drawing from WorldBoston's organizational values, this post-program collaboration exemplifies the importance of hospitality and diplomacy, and how international cooperation and networking can be beneficial to all involved.

Dinner Diplomacy is a fantastic way to engage with international visitors and make lasting connections. Please reach out to Sarah Sibley ([email protected]) to learn about how you can become a host today!
