We’re repurposing materials from some of our recent client campaigns and turning it into hundreds of backpacks that we’ll donate to at-risk and homeless veterans. We’re partnering with RAREFORM for design and manufacturing and Backpacks For Life to get them to the people who need them most. And it’s more than a holiday gift, it’s a step toward a more sustainable future for our industry. This is how we inspire the world to experience better. Have a happy (and sustainable) holiday!

It's World Mental Health Day, but we are lucky to have someone championing our wellness each and every day. Becky Dreps, Account Director on our Jack Health team out of our Chicago office, not only talks-the-talk when it comes to healthcare but she walks-the-walk (or is it stretch-the-stretch?🤣). After working in healthcare marketing during the day, she transitions to her other passion in healthcare – yoga instructing🧘☯️. Becky currently teaches in an array of ways: in a studio gym, on YouTube, at a retreat center, and here at Jack every Wednesday morning at 9AM Central. We are so grateful for her passion to make wellness a priority for our clients and our team! A new addition to our Boston office, Sofia Aldana started out at Jack Morton as an intern this past summer and made it official last month when she signed on as Production Coordinator supporting the Jack Health team. Originally from Colombia, Sofia moved to Boston two years ago to pursue a master’s degree in strategic marketing communications at Emerson College, from which she graduated in May. Outside of work, Sofia loves spending time with dogs, singing, playing the piano, reading, and going on short runs.

When Sofia moved to the States, she was sad to learn that many people associate Colombia with the cartel stories we see in TV shows and movies instead of seeing the warm, vibrant, and dreamy country she grew up in. So, we asked Sofia what she wishes more people knew about her culture – here’s what she said:

“Colombia gets a bad rap because of its violent past, but it has so much more to offer. Colombian food is some of the best you’ll ever try! And it’s not just empanadas – though ours are deliciously crispy and definitely the best. Each region has its own typical dishes; ajiaco in Bogotá, bandeja paisa in Medellín, coconut rice in Cartagena – and those are just a few.

Colombia is a diverse country, influenced by Indigenous, European and African traditions and flavors. It’s also the third most biodiverse country in the world, thanks to its variety of ecosystems including rainforests, mountains, grasslands, deserts, and islands. This creates a unique environment that makes Colombia home to more species of birds than any other country on Earth.

I hope this helps change the way people see my amazing and beautiful country.”

Designer Cristian Martinez Gomez started out as an intern in our Chicago office last summer and returned post-graduation to work with clients including Guinness and Under Armour. In his free time, Cristian enjoys cooking, spinning vinyl, looking at art, scrolling TikTok, printmaking, and shooting street photography — most recently on 35mm film.

With more than a year in the industry under his belt, we asked Cristian what his advice is for Latine talent beginning their careers in marketing. Here’s what he said:

“As a first-gen college graduate and emerging professional, I've often felt out of place and like I don’t belong in certain places and spaces. At times, there may be a significant cultural disconnect from surrounding individuals, but my biggest piece of advice is to stick through it, take up space, be seen, and be heard.

The industry is rapidly diversifying and while at times I'm the only person in the room who looks different and/or has a different background, I always try to remember that I'm laying the path for others like me who will come after. We are growing with no signs of stopping and have lots to bring to the table — persist!”

Katie Owen is VP, Production Director at Jack Health in London, where she leads and manages key client projects for healthcare clients including AstraZeneca and Bristol Myers Squibb. With 15 years of success under her belt in both the UK and US, Katie has experience producing activations for brands the likes of Google, Walmart and LinkedIn, amongst others. The key to her approach to project management, she says, is maximizing client objectives and forming collaborative partnerships with stakeholders and teams.
