Project 351 provides young people across Massachusetts the resources, mentors, and opportunities to serve as long-term leaders in the fight against poverty and hunger.
We wish all members of our 35ONE Community a spooky and safe Halloween! Our real treat is serving with you!
We send joy to friends of Hindi, Jainism, and Sikh faith during Diwali, a five day celebration of the spiritual triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
To all celebrating the Festival of Lights, we wish you love, light, and peace!

The election season is a time to reflect on what makes our country great and democracy thrive -- engaged citizens who use their voice, invest their gifts, and share their strength to lift up, stand up, and speak up for the causes and ideals that reflect our shared humanity and common destiny.
We know no party or ideology, but offer our 35ONE campaign platform:
We sing the song of the unsung hero
and amplify the voice of the quiet leader.
We believe that every young person is remarkable and that within them, lies the tools, vision, and desire to build a more equitable, inclusive, and united global community.
The evidence is irrefutable. Since 2011, 5,229 eighth graders have forged unity across every facet of diversity to end hunger, eradicate bias and discrimination, elevate mental health and wellness, expand educational opportunities, protect our planet, advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, honor military and veterans, and build communities defined by love, compassion, and respect for the dignity of all.
An end state realized by replacing polarization with progress, division with decency, conflict with collaboration, and hatred with hope.
During a time of discord and dissension -- when words incite violence and wither with cruelty -- we choose another path.
To begin in gratitude.
Lead with love.
Imagine a more just and compassionate world.
And then...build it.
Believe in young people. VOTE for love.
🧡💙✌
We are inspired by today’s dedication of the William Felton "Bill" Russell Bridge in Boston in honor of Bill Russell and send warmest congratulations to his family, the Boston Celtics, and his legions of fans and friends around the world.
Mr. Russell is considered the greatest winner in basketball history, the most decorated athlete in sports, and a profoundly influential civil rights and social justice leader. We draw inspiration from Mr. Russell as Project 351 Service Hero and as motivation for the Playbook Initiative, our anti-racism, anti-bias and discrimination partnership with the Boston Celtics. His legacy of bridge builder will forever endure.

This , we remember with love Shane McColgan. In 2021, Shane began his Ambassador year already established as a senior statesman of service. He was five years into his efforts to end hunger in Carver and eager to grow his mission statewide.
A year later, a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia compelled Shane’s new fight, one that endured for 505 days. Our hearts broke when we lost Shane last May. In his honor, we made his mission our own.
On Wednesday evening, Ambassadors will unite to kick-off Fall Service Leadership Academy in preparation for statewide service for local food pantries. We to nourish families, bring hope to communities, and help ensure Shane’s legacy of love will endure.
The Shane McColgan Service Hero Team is led with pride by Ali Gastonguay, AMC ‘22.

From September 15 - October 15, we have celebrated and honored Hispanic Heritage Month. This year’s theme was “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together”, in honor of the“spirit of innovation, resilience, and unity that define the Hispanic experience. We are grateful to be enriched by Ambassadors and Alumni in our community who share a deep pride for their Hispanic heritage. While the formal month-long celebration may be coming to a close, we commit to listening, learning, and uplifting the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and gifts of our community 365 days a year as 35ONE. 🧡💙
On Indigenous Peoples' Day, we celebrate and honor the cultures, histories, and heritage of Native peoples. We draw special inspiration from these leaders of courage and conviction; and their vision for greater justice, equity, and opportunity.
We offer special respect and gratitude for the Indigenous communities who enrich our Commonwealth. We invite you to learn more about their traditional lands on which we reside by visiting https://native-land.ca ; and to explore their rich history and continued leadership at the Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness, https://www.mcnaa.org/
Happy , everyone! Jose Andres, globally renowned chef and humanitarian, believes in the power of food to build community. After the 2010 earthquakes in Haiti, Andres founded World Central Kitchen, a network of chefs that empowers communities to fight hunger and poverty through food. With a volunteer network of chefs, suppliers, nonprofits, government agencies, and delivery services, World Central Kitchen provides millions of meals to those affected by natural disaster. In every natural disaster since, Chef Andres summons his talents, convenes WCK’s community, and responds with community-centered nourishment and care. In the face of disaster, he reflects, “The problem is the urgency of now. It’s a very simple thing when you’re a cook. When you’re hungry, you gather the food, you gather your helpers, you begin cooking, and you start feeding people.” Most recently, Jose Andres has mobilized chefs and local organizations to serve those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The Chef Jose Andres Service Hero Team is led with excellence and care by AMC Maddie Oxnard of Lancaster. 💙🧡

Today is , a day to celebrate the unique beauty of each member of the LGBTQ+ community — at 35ONE and beyond. We honor the bravery and resilience of existing as your most true and authentic self in this world. Your story of coming out — and welcoming others in — is your own, no one else’s.
We embrace our responsibility to learn, listen, and act to foster greater unity and respect for the dignity of all. And serve alongside you to build a world where every young person feels safe and cared for as their authentic self.

Throughout the year, we’re proud to partner with our friends at Hope & Comfort in their mission to end hygiene insecurity. Hope & Comfort provides sustained access to items including soap, toothpaste/brushes, shampoo, menstrual products and deodorant to ensure the dignity and care of children and adults. We have greatest admiration for the Hope & Comfort team and are honored to help them distribute urgently-needed hygiene items across the state — including 3 million products in 2023! Today, we amplify Hygiene Awareness Week, to build knowledge and support of Hope & Comfort’s vital mission. Programming includes the Experience, which invites participants to spend a day without an essential hygiene product (e.g. toothbrush/toothpaste) and chronicle their experience. Experience builds knowledge. Knowledge cultivates empathy. Empathy motivates action! You can learn more at .
This we tribute Danielle West, one of 35ONE's most essential navigators on all matters of import.
Fiercely loyal and ferociously impassioned as a champion of young people, Danielle teaches as she leads: Amplify Ambassador voice. Strive for authenticity. Seek to understand. Support each other’s unique journey. Show up. Love always.
That final bit of advice is on theme as Danielle counts down to her wedding to her fiancée Brenda! So, today's is a dual post -- to honor Danielle as Service Hero and to send an abundance of 35ONELove and wishes for unending joy!
Danielle's team is led with greatest pride by Calvin Lewis, ALC of Cambridge, and this shining community of Ambassadors:
Sophia Blouin, Lawrence
Eduard Geronimo, Boston
Aubrianna Johnson, Whately

As our friends of Jewish faith gather for the important celebration of Rosh Hashanah, we send warmest wishes for a new year filled with sweetness, joy, and peace!
It's a day of greatest joy: the birthday of our Honorary Dean, Board Chair, Service Hero, and greatest champion...Charlie Rose!
It's impossible to quantify or fully express the depth of our admiration and gratitude for this great and good man. By our side since "Project 351" was just a phrase on a page, Charlie has inspired and guided us every day since.
Charlie is walking wisdom, who teaches as he leads and uplifts as he serves. Through his eyes, every young person is remarkable, every aspiration achievable, and the realization of the Beloved Community is just around the bend.
Charlie, thank you for 14 years of building, inspiring, and leading our 35ONE mission and movement. We send endless 35ONELove and every wish for a year filled with greatest joy!
We 💙🧡 you, Charlie Rose!
This week's is a special tribute to President Jimmy Carter, Rosalynn Carter, and their enduring love story.
Upon his wife’s passing in November, President Carter reflected, “As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.” As the nation prepares to celebrate President Carter's 100th birthday, we rejoice in a love that has been a beacon of hope, healing, and humanity for millions the world over.
President Carter is widely admired as our nation's best ex-president. With Rosalynn by his side, he traveled the world as diplomat for peace, catalyst for hope, and champion for the marginalized and forgotten. Habitat for Humanity's "Carter Work Project" is just one demonstration of the expanse of their efforts -- alongside nearly 104,000 volunteers, the Carters built 4,390 homes and a renewed sense of possibility in 14 countries.
In 2002, President Carter was honored with the Nobel Peace prize in recognition of his global leadership. He concluded his Nobel address with these words: "The bond of our common humanity is stronger than the divisiveness of our fears and prejudices. God gives us the capacity for choice. We can choose to alleviate suffering. We can choose to work together for peace. We can make these changes – and we must."
Now in the care of hospice, President Carter will celebrate his 100th birthday on Tuesday. A century of history-making leadership by a pillar of decency, integrity, and faith. A reminder -- in these polarizing times -- of the power of love and the radiance of grace.
As we send prayers of peace and strength to President Carter, we take special pride in the team that bears the Carter's name. Led by Abigail Rainsford, ALC of Rowley, these Ambassadors honor their Service Heroes by their compassion and kindness:
Khouloud Aslane, Revere
Ella Bonenfant, Groton
Noah Chambers, Granby
Luccia Kaloyanides, Reading
Lillian McKinstry, Barre

With pride and joy we celebrate Ambassador Anya Sawant of Lexington and Alumni Nala Thermora '23 of Framingham, Arjun Mukherjee '23 of Northborough, Keegan Butler '22 of Westhampton, and Jack Favata '21 of Ludlow for their selection as members of Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell's Youth Council!
The AG reflects, “Our young people are our next generation of leaders. Far too often, they're left out of conversations about issues that directly impact them. As a mother of two boys, I am fully committed to addressing the challenges facing our youth, and as your Attorney General, I’m proud to seek out young voices to inform our work in these spaces.”
The eighteen-member Council will advise the Attorney General and her team on policies and priorities of importance to their generation. These include bias and discrimination, mental health, school safety, and environmental justice. As they serve, they'll gain invaluable experience in policy and governance; and further their skills as advocates and change makers.
We're grateful to AG Campbell for amplifying the voices and vision of young people, and for her steadfast support of 35ONE.
Warmest congratulations to her and to Anya, Nala, Arjun, Keegan, Jack, and their peers on the Council! Lead on!

As the new school year hits its stride, we dedicate this to Ronnie Goldstein, Assistant Principal at Norton Middle School.
Each year, we honor an educator as one of 40 Service Heroes. We celebrate educators alongside leaders including Nelson Mandela, Congressman John Lewis, and Malala for their profound impact in our lives and enduring legacy as architects of Project 351.
Ronnie teaches as he leads -- mentoring, guiding, and motivating his Ambassadors' development from quiet leaders to confident, capable change makers. Benson Chang '22 reflects, “Mr. Goldstein often says that the most important investment is where you choose to commit your time and heart. The one thing he’ll forever be invested in is the mission, hope, and people of Project 351."
Lily Price, Alumni Mentoring Corps of Middleborough, and this team of amazing Ambassadors are honored to dedicate their service year to 35ONE champion Ronnie Goldstein:

Today's final post is dedicated to our First Responders. The incalculable loss of September 11th included eight EMTs/paramedics, 60 police, and 343 fire fighters. We honor and remember their heroic service and sacrifice.
The courage of our First Responders and their devotion to cause greater than self is daily practice for the brave men and women who serve our communities. Each year, Tribute Service includes acts of gratitude for hometown heroes. Ambassadors Arshiya Awwal of Foxborough, Vinny Mancini of Attleboro, and Ellie Vital of Ludlow -- joined by Alumni Jack Favata, Cullen Smyth, and Tyler Tatro -- are representative of the acts of gratitude that populated our state on Wednesday.
We honor to remember and serve to ensure that love, a spirit of gratitude, and unity are the enduring legacy of those we lost that terrible day.
Join us. Give thanks. Choose kindness. Build bridges. Be love.
❤
Across the state, at schools, town halls, veteran's memorials, and family gardens, our team created Tribute Stone Gardens to honor and remember the 405 Fallen Heroes since 2001 and the 206 loved ones from Massachusetts lost on September 11th.
Ambassadors and Alumni learned about those they were assigned to tribute and reflected on the values and lessons they inspire.
Ambassadors James Galvin of Rockland (images attached) and Khloe Amankwah of Richmond (Berkshire eagle article link below) are two shining examples of 35ONELove-in-action.
https://www.berkshireeagle.com/news/central_berkshires/richmond-consolidated-school-memorial-stone-garden/article_4c2ba4a8-707f-11ef-8d87-5750f987e018.html
We're so proud of James, Khloe, and the 94 members of the Tribute Service team who chose to create these gardens to ensure each of the 611 individuals we remember on September 11th are reflected upon with love and care.
James' reflections deeply inspire us:
"Tribute Service is a way to honor the courage, resilience, and unity that emerged in the face of tragedy. I’m inspired by the stories of first responders, ordinary people who became heroes, and the communities that came together in the aftermath. Their bravery and selflessness serve as a powerful reminder that even in the darkest times, there is light in how we support one another.
As I continue my journey, I’m inspired to carry forward the lessons of 9/11—to honor the past by contributing to a better future and to put others before myself. To carry forward the values that were so evident in the wake of 9/11. To foster kindness, compassion, and unity in all that I do, and to encouraging others to do the same."
❤
On Wednesday, while some of our team gathered to honor and remember on the Kennedy Greenway...the rest led poignant tributes in their hometowns.
We offer a representative sample of Ambassador and Alumni leadership with heartfelt gratitude for the intention, respect, and love with which they lead.
We begin with a beautiful tribute in North Attleborough -- the National Moment of Silence led with amazing grace by Alumna Chisom Agbanari '22 and Naomi Shum '23 and a highlight of their remembrance ceremony with the students and educators of North Attleboro High School 1 and North Attleboro Middle School PTO.
We send our admiration and gratitude to Chisom, Naomi, NAHS Principal Peter Haviland, NAMS Principal Rebecca Paulhus, North Attleborough's First Responders and every student and educator for uniting in remembrance and love.
