My friend Will MacDonald has passed due to cancer. He was a smart, passionate and good man. We built many pump tracks and rode many trails together. The day I found out, I was feeling his energy and this came through.

This one was nasty. Snapped a pedal stroke into the pump track, broke my chain and slammed my body into the face of an asphalt roller. Sheesh. Now that I have shoulders I’m sending some real torque through the bike. Maybe less RipRow and fewer Oreos?

WESTERN SLOPE MOUNTAIN BIKERS - FUN JOB FOR YOU!

I am looking for a rider who can help me manage group rides in your area during a camp Oct. 11-13. I hope to teach more camps there in springs and falls.

Job description
Ride sweep on group rides. Encourage riders. Communicate with me when you see issues. You do not have to coach them. That’s the base of the job. If you can add more value, great.

This person must
- Be a solid rider who I don’t have to worry about. You don’t have to be some pro shredder. Just safe and consistent enough to ride the local trails and keep an eye on other people.
- Have good trailside mechanic skills and carry a proper toolkit with spares.
- First aid experience is a big plus.
- Experience leading MTB rides is a plus.
- Be a generally good person who adds a positive vibe. Students learn bike skills, but our focus is mindset, emotions, connection and all-out joy.

That came out of my mouth today while teaching people to jump their bikes.
