Say hello to our new Nordic Director, Jeff Paulson!

Jeff grew up in Mora, Minnesota, home of the Mora Vasaloppet ski race. He learned to ski with the Bill Koch youth ski league and went on to ski race at Mora High School and St. John’s University at the NCAA level. After college Jeff coached and raced in Minnesota before landing in Boulder, CO in 2005. He helped coach the Boulder Nordic Junior Race Team for a few seasons and worked at Neptune Mountaineering as well as Boulder Nordic Sport in sales and store management roles before becoming an outdoor industry sales rep for several Nordic ski brands. Jeff is passionate about the Nordic lifestyle as well as making that lifestyle accessible to anyone. He’s very excited to be joining the team at Snow Mountain Ranch and is really looking forward to sustaining and growing the strong Nordic program at YMCA of the Rockies. His partner Ali and daughter Petra will be spending time at Snow Mountain Ranch as well. Help us welcome them!

Among the longest tenures in American sports history, Schwartz’s time at saw the sport through the development of skate skiing, the World Cup, and more, all while he played a crucial role in the lives of the countless skiers he coached.

Every week through March 7, 2024 we cover the fundamentals of iron-in and liquid glide waxing, kick waxing and then turn you loose on your skis with supervision. We provide tables, irons and tools, you bring your skis, wax and any tools you want. We sell wax if needed.
