Fascia surrounds and connects all structures in the body, from muscles and bones to organs and nerves, which means that any problem with the fascia can have an impact on the entire body.

Fascia is also a key factor in the flexibility and mobility of the body. When the fascia becomes stiff or tight, it can restrict movement and cause pain, discomfort, and even dysfunction. However, when the fascia is soft and flexible, the body can move freely without restriction.

It is important to care for and maintain the health of the fascia in order to maintain a healthy and fully functioning body. Some ways to do this include proper hydration, regular stretching, and moderate physical activity. Additionally, myofascial release and other soft tissue therapies can help release tension and stiffness in the fascia, thereby improving mobility and reducing pain.

This Teriyaki Salmon Bowl is packed full of flavor and super easy to make at home! A flaky, moist and delicious teriyaki salmon recipe.

Teriyaki Salmon Bowl – Packed full of flavor, this Teriyaki Salmon Bowl is super easy to make at home! Tender salmon glazed with a homemade teriyaki sauce on a bed of sushi rice, with edamame, sliced avocado, and a sprinkling of sesame and scallion – this healthy, gluten-free salmon Teriyaki recipe is just perfect for lunch or a dinner for two. Enjoy!

HOW AND HOW LONG TO STORE THE TERIYAKI SALMON LEFTOVERS?
This teriyaki salmon keeps in the refrigerator for up to 2 days in an airtight container. Reheat gently in the microwave or enjoy at room temperature.

MAKING TERIYAKI SALMON IN THE OVEN
If the stovetop method to make Teriyaki salmon is not an option for you, you can bake the teriyaki salmon in the oven while the rice is cooking. Marinate the salmon in the Teriyaki sauce for a couple of minutes, then arrange the salmon filet on a sheet pan or baking pan and bake at 400ºF (200ºC) for 15 – 20 minutes, until cooked through. Flake the salmon with a fork and transfer it to the rice bowls.

Did you know that your brain uses a whopping 80% of the calories you consume to operate your body and to live a vital life? This information gives new meaning to mental health and the mind-body connection. Not just from a calorie-in and calorie-out equation, but from the perspective of how important it is to consider our brains as part of our fitness habits, as well as ways to include the mind as an essential ingredient to your motion and whole body care.

Mindless motion- monkey see, monkey do is what most of us do as we follow along and imitate an instructor in exercise fitness, wellness, and rehab classes. Most people consider exercising as a chance to turn off their brain and burn off the stress from a long day. However, the opposite is true. The body needs to be connected to the brain, and the mind conscious of the body for the greatest health benefits.

Motion is the ideal place to begin a practice of mindfulness. It’s about connecting to your body which in truth is your personal “divining rod” – helping decide what is true and good for you. Your body collects all of your experiences through the intricate communication of your connective tissue system (AKA Fascia) which is the body’s organ of consciousness. Together with the brain, the two systems regulate and operate as a higher level surveillance system, reporting to you all that you experience as information.

The purpose of mindfulness is to expand consciousness. Expanding consciousness is simply a process of cultivating the ability to open and widen our personal aperture of what we see, thus allowing for us to see more things inside our field of view and gain more information. With more information, it is possible to change our perspective, and this is the root of how we can deal with modern afflictions of anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses.

Chia pudding is great for breakfast (or any meal of the day) and it’s even better when you can make a large batch, freeze it for several weeks and then just thaw as needed. Yes, you can freeze chia pudding!

HOW TO MEAL PREP CHIA PUDDING

🥄Add: the chia seeds and milk to a container. Depending on the type of milk you used, you can add a sweetener or leave it off.
🥄Mix: all of the ingredients together until well blended.
🥄Wait: 15 minutes or until the chia seeds have started to gel. Then stir again.
🥄Add: your favorite toppings (I’ve listed some ideas below).
🥄Secure: with a lid and place in the fridge or freezer.

It’s that easy! If you’ve frozen the chia pudding, just remove the individual container of chia pudding from the freezer and place it in the fridge the night before you’d like to enjoy.
It will thaw overnight. Sometimes, if your fridge is really cold it may not thaw completely. If that happens, just leave it on the counter for 5-10 minutes. Give it a stir and enjoy!

topping combinations:

Strawberries + blueberries + raspberries
Mango + shredded coconut
Nectarines + candied ginger
Pineapple + mango + kiwi
Blueberry puree + almond butter + blackberries
Raspberries + shredded coconut (on the chocolate chia pudding)

It will last for up to 5 days in the fridge or for several weeks in the freezer. Also recommend using containers that aren’t too big, so you have less air

Drinking water is not the only way (and is not the best way) to hydrate.

Thanks to the various functions of fascia there are many ways the body uses water to hydrate. One not well known or capitalized on for deep hydration is what I call “fascia drip hydration”.

Watering plants with a watering can is like a human drinking a bottle of water. But a far superior way of feeding your plants (body) is by putting them on a slow extended drip that delivers smaller amounts of water over a longer period of time, which increases absorption. A drip is one type of irrigation.

When you eat your water (foods high in water content)- Fascia works like an irrigation system slowly seeping water deeper into your tissues and cells. It’s a much more nutritious and effective way to deeply hydrate your body and gets that hydration to the cells where it really matters.

We will share with you wonderful simple delectable recipes each week to help you grow your cornucopia of fascia foods that hydrate and nourish you body and soul.

RECIPE BY



This recipe is great for those following a clean eating and whole foods diet. Whether you are plant based, vegetarian, gluten free, paleo or keto, this recipe is easy to adjust to work for your dietary preferences.

You will need the following ingredients to make two servings of this salad. Choose local and/or organic ingredients as available to you.

1 bunch green curly kale
1 bunch red curly kale
organic blueberries
organic currants
organic or local walnuts
organic, raw block of parmesan
extra virgin olive oil
champagne vinegar
raw, local honey
sea salt
2 hard boiled eggs (optional)
If you are on a candida diet or avoiding vinegars and sugar of any type, you can still enjoy this recipe.

Omit the vinegar and honey, and simply massage the shredded kale with equal parts lemon juice and olive oil.You will need the following ingredients to make two servings of this salad. Choose local and/or organic ingredients as available to you.

An AMAZING benefit of eating Fascia Foods is their power to strengthen our digestive tract. Too often in our modern lives our digestive systems aren’t in tip top shape, and that can have an impact on how well we absorb the nutrients we consume. The reason collagen is important is because it builds gut health, which is essential to help you better absorb nutrients. Eating fascia super foods that strengthen your digestive tract, like high fiber beans and greens, can also help to repair the gut so that you can reap the full benefits of the vitamin C in citrus, the antioxidants in tea, and the amino acids in fish.

Thank you for another amazing year at GST Body. Our community is my inspiration. It keeps me passionate about what I do. I am so very grateful for you.

In reflection of this year, I continue to try to live in right relationship to what is. It is the the basic elemental laws of physics for the body - applied to our personal lives . How can respond appropriately to the forces, stresses and tensions that effect us? How can we take things that feel hard, tight and restrictive and get them to move, to flow? How can we remain open, spacious and connected on all levels and relationships in our lives?

In the upcoming 2023 year, may you find an ever deepening connection with your body and grow further into yourself. Take and share what you find and be in service of others. This is what it means to live a truly vital life.
