START is thrilled to begin this journey with such a dedicated team on such an ambitious and important project!

"This week marks a pivotal moment for CSAG and our partners across Africa – the official launch of the CASCADE consortium! We laid the groundwork for a collaborative and co-creative journey ahead, with the collective aim to harness the continent's diverse experiences and challenges. This inclusive approach is vital in shaping practical, impactful interventions that reflect a genuine Pan-African perspective.

📢 Emeritus Professor Daya Reddy, the Vice-Chancellor (interim) of the University of Cape Town (UCT) said, "CASCADE is an excellent example of how we can address the challenges of climate change, poverty and inequality, and the stresses on urban infrastructure, through the teamwork of researchers, practitioners, community leaders and policy makers."

The consortium is led by the UCT's Climate System Analysis Group (CSAG), with partners at the University of Ghana, Chinhoyi University of Technology, Makerere University, Global Change Institute, The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, and START International.

📢 Dr. Chris Jack, Deputy Directory of CSAG said "Through CASCADE, we aim to foster vital connections to build a truly effective and sustainable partnership, one that thrives on mutual learning and collaborative action across the continent."
