Grateful for You - https://mailchi.mp/c3f2df322920/grateful-for-you
I worked with a client the other day who, like many of us, was inundated with external stressors: a mom who was ill, another family member had died, a challenged marriage, not particularly happy at work... etc,. I draw on many modalities over several sessions to support someone like this, but sometimes, the homework can be just one tiny, simple baby step. I asked her to set a chime for every two hours throughout her wakeful hours. When that chime goes off, she will stop what she is doing, tune into her body, and ask with loving curiosity, "I wonder what I need right now?" We often put everyone and everything else first, yes?
The reason this question should come from self love and curiosity is because that's the way you know the answer you receive is in your highest good. It will help to pause before asking the question to tune into your breath. It will often be an answer that is simple, doable, and it may surprise you. Try it!
Hey folks let’s make room in all that activism, working on ourselves and meeting responsibilities for LAUGHTER. I love those days when my orientation is laughter because I walk around with a bemused lens. I am oriented around laughter and therefore it happens frequently. Let’s LAUGH. It heals.
This year, to honor my relationship with myself, speak self love through action, and commemorate my birth, I am buying myself a gift. I have been following a female artist for some time, and I am purchasing two of her drawings which, for me, symbolize the healing energy that moves through our hands, and the importance of loving the inner child to heal. They will be displayed in my treatment room. My heart is singing just thinking about it!
I shared this with a client recently, and she said, "Oh yeah... I call those 'To: Me, Love: Me' gifts. I buy one for myself every year too!
Please join us in "To: Me, Love: Me" gifting. What is something that would make your heart sing? (And it doesn't have to be your birthday!)
Today I whisper this sentiment into the summer sky for us all.
This is process is experiential. We must actually do it to receive the benefits of it! Here we go...
1. Take a partner... a friend who you are seeing or a family member.
2. Invite them to play a game guaranteed to elicit smiles.
3. Stand and face each other.
4. Think of someone (could be a person or a pet) who really really loves you.
5. Ask your partner to set a phone timer for 2 minutes.
6. Begin speaking about yourself as if it was your chosen person who loves you describing how much they love you and why. Allow yourself to step into their shoes and describe all aspects of the relationship and who you are to them to your witness, even if your witness already knows this person.
7. When the timer dings, take a moment to feel into your body. How does it feel to be so loved? What sensation do you notice in your body?
8. Switch roles if your partner would like a turn!
Loving ourselves the way others love us is one of the top ways to foster healing, high vibration and resilience. And you don't need to buy anything to do it.
Love you!
Happy Friday, friends.
May we all breathe in the present moment.
Our bodies are resilient miracles. Sure, sometimes they do not behave the way we would hope. Their breakdowns and needs do not always align with our timetable and desires. When a healing crisis happens, we are launched into fear, leaning into intervention even more. But what if everything our body was doing was a process to move ever more completely towards healing? What if we listened and trusted that our body knows what it needs? Do not give your power and knowing away. Make space to listen. Pause. Lean into uncertainty. See what messages come from inside. Repeat.
Stay soft. Stay open. I know it’s probably too vulnerable to do it all the time because the world feels sharp, but as long as we have certain places and practices that allow us to feel into and move our softness, our bodies will remember.🤍
At “The Body Now” retreat on Whidbey Island at the stunning Whidbey Institute, facilitating a site specific exploration in the old growth forest. Each sense drank in the environs and reflected back in movement. Then we did improvisational honoring dances in a site as others witnessed our connection.
Aware of and grateful for the potent learning and healing through the body, presencing and movement.
During our check in before working together, I asked my client what brought her to see me today. She said “Lulu, I want to walk out of here feeling like an effervescent cloud goddess.” 💙☁️
I loved this so much because if we can combine an intention with a feeling state, we can manifest anything. When I heard her description, we could both immediately feel into the light, bright, shimmering quality of it. It made me smile immediately.
So often, we focus on what’s wrong. What if we played with pivoting toward and orienting around what would make us come alive?
A tool to play with could be to ask yourself a few times throughout the day “What am I orienting around?” It might be criticism or fixing. It might be that you are not enough or that you don’t have enough. It CAN be that you are oriented around loving, creating, healing and/or finding a connection. What a difference this filter of perception makes.
Have a spectacular day, effervescent cloud goddesses.
“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”
- C. Joy Bell
Joe Dispenza said this at a workshop I attended recently and it actually made me laugh out loud because it is so NOT how I have been operating. It’s as if NO has been a bad word. Can you relate? Even so, when Dr. Dispenza said “NO is a complete sentence”, I LOVED IT.
If you are like me and need to tag on umpteen words when you garner the courage to say “no,” let’s remember the unapologetic spirit of this sentiment and remind ourselves that saying “no” can be saying “yes” to ourselves. “No” doesn’t have to be impolite; it can be an affirmation of your aliveness and where you want to put your energy. Choose YOU. Say yes only when you feel it.
I love Joe Dispenza and his work so much, I’ll be sharing more of his oft repeated sentiments on this page. Because what bodyBLOOM Wellness is all about is uncovering what makes you come alive and accessing all the tools to support your body, mind and spirit to create the life you want to live.
Let your connection with the natural world buoy your heart and heal you.

Thank you to for capturing this on her travels. Turns out it’s the foundation for all the work I do so of course it made me cry.
Keys to healing: Are you aware of the young you that resides inside? What is s/he asking for? What does s/he need to feel safe? Delighted? Seen? Once in a while, take that little one into your arms or play in a way
s/he would like. Embrace the whole YOU. Mother yourself. 💛
💛
Be mothered. 🧡
In my experience of working with diverse groups and individuals, the two key components of healing and maintaining vibrant health are heart coherence and self love. Of course there are other pieces to the puzzle, but what you eat and how much you exercise, for example, has little effect if you aren’t practicing self love and doing the things that bring you joy and foster gratitude. Heart math Institute reminds us that “Heart signals have a significant effect on brain function, influencing emotional processing as well as higher cognitive faculties such as attention, perception, memory and problem solving.” The brain is waiting for it’s instructions. Let your heart guide you to health.❤️
Gave an embodiment workshop called “heartSPACE” to yoga teacher trainees today from the Northern Colorado Yoga School.
It was like a cool sip of lemonade on a sunny summer day… DEE-LISCIOUS and RICH.
We explored heart coherence and self love as the two key components of healing and practice, and embodiment as the thread that ties it all together!
Thank you to school founders Courtney and Adriana for inviting me to be your guest! 🙏🏼
Had so much fun offering therapeutic massage to hard working teachers at Mackintosh Academy in Boulder today. Such a sweet community and lovely group of humans!

Ever had a project you’ve been putting on the shelf for two years? That’s what I was doing with my website. And when I was ready, it happened pretty easily, actually.
Improvisation practices have taught me that when I want to put myself out there, whether it be in a performance, a website, or even in the act of asking a question or appreciating someone, it needn’t be in its perfectly polished stage. Perfectly polished is not the stuff of real life. So here’s something in its imperfection that is close to my heart.
May it make community. May it make expanded boundaries. May it make creativity. Make it make healing, joy and play. 🤍

Our Story
Hello.
My name is Lulu. I am a dancer, mother, manager, educator, producer, advocate, artist and change maker. I have been guiding groups in movement, awareness and expression through dance, yoga and reflective art for most of my working life. I realized from a young age that truly inhabiting and listening to my body balanced me. It tempered my over-extending, over-thinking and over-acting and brought me into a more flowing, intuitive place. It had me feel my strength, peace or whatever was there in the moment, which freed me to BE in a more authentic, empowered way. It had me come fully into my creativity so that I could design my life every day. It fostered my intuition, so that I have a clearer sense of what paths to take in my life. It had me embrace spontaneity and play such that I feel youthful and enjoy life. It gave me a sense of humor. And that’s just what it did for ME!
I am absolutely positive that there are an infinite number of gifts for us when we inhabit and listen to our bodies. Embodiment will transform our families, relationships, work life, health care, the political climate, the environment... and all the realms of life on which we hope to have an impact. Embodiment in my work happens through body based awareness, embodied learning, movement, creative expression and self care. I know embodied practices can impact social change so resolutely because I’ve seen it happen over and over again for over 20 years in my work. You can imagine how passionate I am about guiding you to step fully into your genius using the body as a gateway with this as my perspective! And each time I work with a client or group, I am doing my own practice as well. What a gift.
Dive in using the tools I’ve accumulated over a lifetime of study and practice. Foster the gifts and liberation a pain free, expanded, present state can bring. Some general tools we will utilize include: Therapeutic, integrative massage, yoga, somatics education and years of work as an educator who knows how to meet "students" where they are and guide them to new places.
