Did you know that in the late ’40s, at the start of the Cold War, the US Military produced a synthetic form of cannabis with the idea to spray the chemical from airplanes to incapacitate the enemy by getting them too high?

The idea was to produce an extremely potent couch-lock version of cannabis. Once dropped over enemy lines and the enemy would become settled down, allowing the US troops to invade & round up the enemy without even firing a shot. All because they were too high! That was the idea at least.

What was the drug? The drug was Dimethylhepylpyran, DMPH, a synthetic analog of THC. The drug is extremely more sedative, however weaker psychoactive effects when compared to normal THC. The big thing however was the effects can last up to THREE DAYS!

DMPH was so sedative that it caused the blood pressure of many individuals to drop to anent levels. The low blood pressure led to muscle weakness, fainting, and potentially even impaired heart functioning.

At no surprise, the plan never made it to the field. Other chemicals, more deadly presumably, proved to be more effective.

Did you know the terpene limonene is found in many citrus fruits such as limes🍈 & lemons🍋?!? So it’s not surprising that this terpene gives many cannabis strains their citrusy lemony fragrance and flavor!

Limonene is a common terpene that's present, at minimal, in a small percentage, in almost all strains, however, the amount, as well as other terpenes present, can influence the effects. 💁

Limonene tends to provide:
1) SATIVA strains an energizing ⚡ and exhilarating buzz 🐝
2) Provide the mood-elevating effects 😄 of HYBRID strains.
3) Counteract more sedating terpenes like myrcene, thus reducing the potential for depressed mood 🌧 and the sedative effects 😴 normally correlated to INDICAS.

The benefits of limonene are mostly aromatherapeutic, meaning that the fragrance promotes an elevated and uplifted mood. One study showed that inhaling limonene increased both dopamine and serotonin levels in areas of the brain associated with depression, anxiety, and OCD.

Additional studies 📊 indicate that limonene has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Even research from the National Cancer Institute shows that limonene induces apoptosis, a process in which cancerous cells self-destruct.

There are Sativa, Indica, and hybrid strains that are rich in limonene, unlike other terpenes which tend to be more directional 🔀
