Stock up with a few convenient foods found at :
Siete almond tortillas - love these with eggs or tacos, avocado and lettuce. GF!
Perfect Bars have a good amount of protein and clean enough ingredients. Peanut is the main ingredient. GF!
My son love the organic hummus.
I usually have a Chomps meat stick in my bag, especially when traveling.
Pure Organic is a yummy little fruit snack - great for biking and hiking.
Seeds are an important part of a healthy diet, especially for hormone balance (hey there, peri menopausal and menopausal women). I love the pumpkin and h**p seeds. Great on salads, in smoothies, yogurt, etc.
Seeds of change quinoa and brown rice packets are great for a quick weeknight meal, or for lunch at the office.
Brazil nuts are so yummy and contain selenium!
Simple Mills almond crackers are super yummy and most on a SIBO diet tolerate these.

Adding in some miles on the gravel on a beautiful late spring day. To know me, is to know that I love riding bikes! It’s my exercise, my fitness, my social time, my mood booster, etc.
My bike: Niner RLT RDO. This bike feels like a well trained pony to me. Light and agile, responsive and versatile.
My shoes: 5 10’s. Love, love, love these. These shoes have traveled many miles with me. They feel like bedroom slippers and are comfy even when I have to push my bike.
My most favorite jacket: Patagonia light weight with synthetic fill. It is my absolute favorite for biking and skiing because I can sweat and the jacket continues to be warm. I have two of these! Found at our local outlet.
My pack: Evoc hip pack. It’s new to me! I no longer carry a back pack on the bike due to an old shoulder, neck and head injury. All those parts feel better when not wearing a pack. I carry things on my bike, frame, too.
If you bike, what do you love about it? What gear do you love? Share it in the comments!
I’m filled with joy to have celebrated my son’s graduation from high school this past weekend.
It feels somewhat surreal, as time seems to have gone by so fast. I never could have imagined how much love I could hold in my heart until I had Zach 18 years ago.
He is kind, caring, smart, driven and I can’t wait to see what adventures await him as he moves through this big, wide world.
A big thank you to our family and to all our friends who helped us celebrate the big event. The future looks bright!

Thank you, Molly for sharing this 💜.
Love your liver this spring.
1. Say goodbye to bad fats - the ones found in fast food and processed foods. The heat process oxidizes them which is hard for the liver to clean out. Choose clean fats like coconut oil, olive oil and avocado oil.
2. Love that lemon water - zest and juice supports a healthy liver. Drink 8 ounces of lemon water each morning upon waking to support the liver’s detoxification process.
3. Eat those greens - cilantro, parsley, mustard greens, arugula, dandelion. Plus Swiss Chard, spinach and cruciferous kale. The bitter ones are the best for the liver!

Welcome! I am so glad you are here! Let’s get to know each other.
I’m Karen Mitchell and I empower women with SIBO or IBS and autoimmune disease like Hashimotos to heal their gut, boost their energy and reclaim their mental clarity and vitality so they can fully and authentically show up for life.
After experiencing a multi-year decline in my health and receiving a SIBO diagnosis as well as a Hashimoto’s diagnosis, I healed my gut and put Hashimoto’s in remission naturally, by making changes in my lifestyle and diet, my mindset, supporting my nervous system and with a little help from some incredible practitioners.
But, it wasn’t that easy. I tried literally EVERYTHING to feel better. At times I felt lonely, frustrated and very overwhelmed. I so badly wanted someone along side me to guide me in healing my gut.
As I began to feel better, I realized that I wanted to be that guide for others, so they could have support and community and expert guidance to feel better faster than I did.
Now I coach women so they can overcome SIBO and IBS and achieve autoimmune remission with a holistic approach that includes nutrition, lifestyle, mindset and nervous system approaches. It’s all about the whole body, mind and heart!
Reversing SIBO and IBS and autoimmune disease is possible, and I LOVE empowering other women worldwide to do the same.
In addition to my national board certification in health and wellness coaching, I am certified in functional nutrition and have many hours of study in SIBO and IBS. I weave in my life experience as a yogini, meditator, adventurer, as well as my loves of endurance mountain biking, competitive English horse riding and organic gardening. Plus, I’m a mom and a wife!
I am motivated every day by the idea that when we feel better in our bodies and hearts, we can show up for one another more fully and through that, our communities get stronger.
THANK YOU for being here, and for being a part of this amazing community of gut gals (and guys!).
Let’s heal the world, one gut at a time, together!
If you have the winter blues, you are not alone! Here are 5 tips to nourish your body and mind and survive the winter months:
1. Choose Whole Foods with Plenty of Fats and Protein: to name a few - salmon, eggs, avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, flax seed, whole vegetables.
2. Avoid Processed Foods and Processed Sugar: Added sugar can increase the risk of depression, can wreak havoc on gut bacteria (where 90% of serotonin is made), increases cellular aging, and may accelerate cognitive decline. Choose healthier sugar options like honey, maple syrup, or monk fruit.
3. Cultivate Cozy and Community: Embrace Hygge in your home and invite a friend or family member to share a tea or meal. Light candles, place pillows and blankets around, put on cozy slippers and snuggle in.
4. Move your body daily: Make exercise fun and in the sun! Go for a walk with the dog. Try a new winter sport like cross country skiing, snow shoeing or ice skating. Join a fitness class at a local gym or sign up for a series of yoga or Pilates classes.
5. Get some sun on your face: Run out of your house or office for “sun breaks” a few times per day. Soak it in.
I hope these help ☺️

I use IG to boost my mood sometimes. I do that by watching animals do sweet and funny things. As a result, this is what I see when I go to search on IG. Now, I’d like to buy a pink helmet. 😂😂😂. How about you? Why do you use IG? one day I will own my own donkey. It might just be my spirit animal 🦓
Happy trails on a lovely fall day.
