On March 5th, 2009 a gas explosion rocked Bozeman and destroyed a whole city block, including the Rocking R Bar. The explosion garnered national headlines which featured the iconic Rocking R Bar sign laying in a pile of rubble. On July 26th, 2011 the Rocking R Bar reopened it's doors with a huge celebration. The community support was overwhelming and was indicative of what this establishment has meant to the town and university students.
Whether you are a Bozeman resident or just stopping through on your way to Yellowstone National Park you will feel right at home at the Rocking R Bar. So swing by to see how the old melds with the new in the rebuilt bar. Chat with our friendly staff or watch the big game. We feature eighteen TVs and four pool tables so you will never run out of entertainment at the Rocking R Bar.
