Kirkwood Presbyterian Church
BE THE CHURCH. Being a follower of Christ is about a lifestyle, not about your ability to sit in a pew for an hour each Sunday.
We're just real people living a life unto the Lord in the real world. Not perfect, just in love with a perfect Savior!
Kirkwood Church located in West Bradenton Florida has two Sunday services. The first is their contemporary service at 9AM. The second is their traditional service at 11AM. Feel free to comment and reach out to us with any questions, suggestions, or prayer requests. May God bless you and we hope to stay connected with you through our live streams and in person services.

This is the sermon from Sunday after Hurricane Milton 10/13/24. Entitled, "Practicing Perseverance". We were unable to livestream due to the power outage, so Pastor Alex recorded the sermon on Wednesday so that those who weren't able to attend could hear.
Practicing Perseverance Sermon 10 13 24 This was the Sunday after Hurricane Milton.
Here's some photos from our post-hurricane worship in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday (we weren't able to live-stream, but Pastor Alex will post a recording of the sermon later today for all who couldn't attend). Praise God that we made it through safely, continue to pray for all those facing major losses, and thank you Jesus for lights and AC turning back on 10 minutes before the service started!
Power is still out in the sanctuary, and we have a number of folks still out of town, but we know the gift that gathering for worship can be in such difficult times, so we will meet on Sunday morning for a combined service at 10am! The tentative plan is to meet in Pfrangle Hall (which does have electricity and working bathrooms) for a simplified worship service and time for fellowship after. And if power is fully restored before then, we'll gather in the sanctuary instead. In the aftermath of the storm we continue to hold you in our prayers, and if you have any immediate needs please reach out to Pastor Alex or a member of our Session so the church can provide support.
NEW MEMBERS CLASSES WITH PASTOR ALEX
Pastor Alex will have classes for those interested in becoming members of Kirkwood. Classes start Sunday, Oct. 13th, and will be held between services in the conference room through the office lobby. New members will be introduced at the combined service on Nov. 10th. Please sign up in the narthex if you are interested in becoming a member or contact the office. See Pastor Alex with any questions.
Please welcome back with us this week Dr. Julia Piermont and the Christ Church of Longboat Key's congregation for both 9AM & 11AM services. Julia will be sharing the sermon this week, as we celebrate World Communion Sunday.
If you appreciated Sunday’s sermon, make sure to share/like this clip so others can see it too!
Due to Hurricane Helene, many still do not have access to the islands. Much of Christ Church's (Longboat Key) congregation, including Pastor Julia, does not have access to their building and cannot have services on Sunday. As a result, Christ Church will be joining us tomorrow for both the 9 am and 11 am services. Pastor Julia will lead worship alongside Pastor Alex. Please make our brothers and sisters in Christ feel comfortable at Kirkwood as we gather for fellowship and worship.
We look forward to a meaningful time of worship and community and opening our doors to those in need.
If you appreciated the encouragement to find "good work" when and where you're able, make sure to share this clip so others can recieve it too!
