Origin Story:

Bratwurst's roots date back to 1313 in Nuremberg, Germany
Name derived from Old High German "brät" (chopped meat) and "wurst" (sausage)

Traditional Ingredients:

Pork, beef, or veal
Onions, salt, pepper, nutmeg, ginger
Sometimes filled into natural casings

Regional Varieties:

Nürnberger Bratwurst (Nuremberg-style)
Münchner Bratwurst (Munich-style)
Currywurst (Berlin-style, with ketchup and curry powder)

Serving Suggestions:
Grilled or pan-fried
Served with sauerkraut, potatoes, or bread
