Today is the last day for our annual smARTen Up Camp hosted by MAEC! Students have been creating, performing, and learning around Music, Dance, Theatre, and Art all week. Special thank you to Lee MS for hosting us and to our local community partners for providing special experiences each day of camp. The Manatee Arts Education Council is proud to host the smARTen UP Summer Camp in effort to enhance and enrich the learning of our district’s rising 1st-rising 6th grade students. In addition to art and general music, students directly benefit from this program by receiving instruction from certified and highly-qualified arts educators in arts content areas not traditionally offered in the elementary arts curricula, including dance, theatre, band, strings/ukulele, and media arts.

Arts Alive 2024!

All Manatee County high school marching bands to honor our veterans in the following parades:

Old Soldiers and Sailors Parade (Participating bands include: Braden River, Lakewood Ranch, Manatee and Southeast High Schools)
Friday, November 10, 2023, at 9 a.m.
📍 City Hall to City Pier Park, Anna Maria Island

Veterans Day Parade (Participating bands include: Bayshore, Palmetto & Parrish Community High Schools)
Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
📍 Manatee County Fairgrounds to Sutton Park in Palmetto

Manatee County parents and guardians of young children will have a new way to cultivate the love of reading through the brand-new Story Book Trail at Lincoln Park, located at 501 17th Street East in Palmetto. Families are invited to the opening ceremony on Thursday, November 16, at 1:30 PM, then stroll along the trail to read “A Walk in the Forest" by Maria Dek. Activity tables will be set up until 3 PM.

Sponsored by I Am Yes Joyful Projects and Manatee Education Foundation, the panels were designed and built in conjunction with the School District of Manatee County and Soar in 4 Manatee.
