we are in full swing here at the farm! we loaded our last butcher pigs on out & they are ready for many friends & families tables! we cannot thank everyone enough for supporting us when it comes to buying farm fresh pork! we already have a list started for the next round of pigs - crazy isn’t it!?🤩

our chicks are growing like weeds & will be ready to be processed by the beginning of June. I have to tell ya, if you’re ever going to raise your own meat birds - cornish cross is the way to go. they have one of the fastest growing rates of only 5-6 weeks (of course depending on what size you prefer). if you’re in the market for farm fresh chicken, let me know! we sell them as whole birds - absolutely delicious!

our laying hens are always so so busy & I am overjoyed with the amount of fresh eggs I’m getting every day! we sell them at the Wild Bird Store Little Farm Market in NE Brainerd or you can simply message me here & I can set something up in order for you to get the best tasting eggs ever!

Our girl Pixie is due in a couple weeks - this is her 8th liter of piglets 🐷 she is such a good mama! I know I have missed the little squeaks of the babies - we haven’t had anyone farrow since January. I seriously can’t wait!

Public Service Announcement on Behalf of Hummingbirds:
This hummingbird is unable to retract her tongue due to fungal spores that have germinated on her tongue or in her gullet caused by folks mixing honey or anything other than plain white sugar with water. She will die because she can no longer feed.
If you have feeders, PLEASE USE ONLY PLAIN WHITE SUGAR in your mixture of 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. No organic or raw or brown sugar, no powdered sugar, no honey, no artificial sugar. Use plain white sugar/water mixture which is most similar to actual flower nectar. And no toxic red color liquids!
Change the sugar water mixture every couple of days, especially during high temperatures, as it will start to ferment if it sits out for days on end.
If you can't or won't do this, please do not put out a feeder at all. (Photo credit: Frank Lingohr).

🐝🐝🐝…. What’s the buzz?

Our beeswax wraps from Shor have arrived! Did you know that these are made right here in MN? Grand Rapids to be exact! Aren’t they beautiful?! One of our favorite ways to cut out plastic in the world. These come in various sizes for all different size dishes!

These can be rinsed and reused for up to a year or more 🤯 how crazy?! Now compare that to your one-time-use plastic cling wrap.. when rinsing be sure to not use warm/hot water as it will wear away the beeswax. You can also use a mild dish soap if they get anything on them.

To use simply lay over top of whatever dish and watch the magic of the heat from your hands form the wrap around the edges for a tight seal! Ahhhhmazing!

We have a starter set, hotdish wrap and a roll (cut your own size!) available.
