To Valued Patients: Our billing system utilizes Change Healthcare- which has been inoperational since 2/21/24 due to a cybersecurity breach. Your data was not impacted.

Since 2/21/24 our admin/billing team has been manually submitting claims and posting ERAs daily- which is time consuming and hard! Please be patient with our administrative and billing staff this week as we work hard to keep our practice up and running! Due to this outage and added workflow Meredith may be unavailable to her regular patient load, there are 4 other APRNs at the practice helping to provide any crisis visits that are needed. The Public Health Committee will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in Room 1D of the LOB and via Zoom. The public hearing can be viewed via YouTube Live. In addition, the public hearing may be recorded and broadcast live on CT-N.com. Individuals who wish to testify must register using the On-line Testimony Registration Form. The registration form must contain the name of the person who will be testifying. A unique email address must be provided for each person registered to speak. Registration will close on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. Speaker order of approved registrants will be listed in a randomized order and posted on the Public Health Committee website on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. under Public Hearing Testimony. If you do not have internet access, you may provide testimony via telephone. To register to testify by phone, call the Phone Registrant Line at 860-240-0560 to leave your contact information. Please submit written testimony using the On-line Testimony Submission Form. The Committee requests that testimony be limited to matters related to the items on the Agenda. The first hour of the hearing is reserved for Legislators, Constitutional Officers, State Agency Heads and Chief Elected Municipal Officials. Speakers will be limited to three minutes of testimony. The Committee encourages witnesses to submit a written statement and to condense oral testimony to a summary of that statement. All public hearing testimony, written and spoken, is public information. As such, it will be made available on the CGA website and indexed by internet search engines.

An excerpt from my latest email to Anthem. It's been a 6.5 year battle but unfortunately Serenity Wellness will be going off panel from Anthem in July 2024. I have fought the fight for our clients and members, and unfortunately we continue to lose money, time, and frankly at times our sanity in trying to deal with them. It takes a lot for me to give up, so please know, I truly fought the fight!

"As an aside- it is this very issue that will continue to cut off care to Anthem members, as we will be un-paneling the practice in full as of July 2024. Anthem’s multi billion dollar profit yearly apparently is not enough to implement effective customer service for providers, competent claims adjustors, and provider service call lines that lead to productive outcomes. Some day I hope Anthem uses the billion dollar profits to invest in its members and not its pockets."

We have openings for individual therapy starting the week of 1/2/24. We have evening and day time appointments available with our skilled psychotherapists!

We hope everyone has a peaceful holiday season this December. This is a reminder that we do not schedule clients and have a light closing from 12/25-1/1. Clinicians are OFF for the week. We have one clinician covering every day for any crises and refills. ALL current clients need to put requests through the patient portal. Refill requests will not be responded to on weekends and holidays. Please plan accordingly.

New/Prospective clients: We will respond to voicemails and e-mail inquiries, and will be booking intakes for January 2024. No new intakes will occur the week of 12/25-1/1. Our clinicians and administrative staff work very hard through the year, and deserve this time to focus on their families and friends. We do have coverage in place, but there will be no appointments booked.

Thank you for a wonderful 2023, and we will see everyone in 2024.
