Brentwood Library had over 800 Summer Reading finishers this year--the third highest turnout in the entire county! Here are some lucky readers who won an extra treat in our prize drawing.

Storytimes will go on break for September so we can welcome elementary school students into the library for field trips.

Brentwood Library invites homeschool families to a meet & greet hour where you can meet your library staff, learn about the resources your library can offer you, and share your recommendations for how we can better serve your schooling needs.
Light refreshments and snacks will be served. The library will provide coloring pages and toys for younger kids.
When: Thursday, August 29th 2-3 p.m.
Where: Brentwood Library
Brentwood Library will not host storytimes in September, in order to provide field trips and class visits to local schools. So far we've scheduled visits from Brentwood Elementary, Garin Elementary, Krey Elementary, Mary Casey Black Elementary, and Timber Point Elementary. Even Bristow Middle School students will be meeting a librarian this school year!

This Saturday, 8/3 from 11-2, stop by the library to meet adoptable shelter pets from Antioch Animal Services. We'll also be collecting donations of dog and cat food, and small blankets. This program will be in the Community Room, accessible through the children's area.

The sale, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be held on the second floor of the Brentwood Library. Inclusive Dance Performance with Bronze Girl Productions

Celebrate Disability Pride month with an inclusive dance performance by Bronze Girl Productions. Bronze Girl Productions offers West African dance performances and workshops for a variety of events and organizations. Bronze Girl Productions welcomes performers of all abilities.
This program is recommended for all ages. No registration is required.

The Paralympics and Inclusive Sports with Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program

In honor of Disability Pride Month, join us for a presentation on disability sports and the Paralympics with Emily Seelenfreund of Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program (BORP).
BORP is a local adaptive sports and recreation organization whose mission it is to improve the health, independence, and social integration of people with physical disabilities and visual impairments through sports.
Closed captioning and American Sign Language translations will be provided for this program.

Guess whoooo is winging their way to the library's children's section? A brand new owl stool and matching table, to join our "parliament!" Applause to the talon-ted for their beautiful craftsmanship, and a big thank you to Brentwood Library Foundation for this much needed "roost" for our storytime families.
