Have you ever wanted to emerse yourself with the translation of the Quran but never found time to? Well this anew opportunity awaits inshaAllah! Sheikh Farid Di**le will be having a Quran translation session EVERY day for the entire month of ramadan. This blessed program will happen around 6:30-7:30am. Start your day with the remembrance of Allah!

Assalamu A’laykum all. Allhamdullilah, we will be having a family night next Friday at 7:30pm with an informative and inspiring topic led by Dr. Shyam K. Sriram Ph.D. Please join us as we embark on ‘A Life’s Journey: the Resettlement of The Soul and Body’, a topic we all can benefit from InshaAllah.

Dr. Sriram is an expert on refugee resettlement and loves to research, teach, and explain the intricacies of American politics and policies. He is the first person in his family born in America and considers two places home: Chicago and Atlanta. He loves mentoring and co-authoring articles with his students. He moved to Buffalo in May 2022 from Spokane, WA where he taught at Gonzaga. Although raised in a Hindu family, Dr. Sriram converted to Islam in 2006. He comes to Canisius with the hope of inspiring students to appreciate our interconnected and intersectional world.

Alhamdulillah Allah has blessed me with finding and translating this short-but-sweet gem of a poem from my beloved teacher Salek Bin Siddina, may Allah elevate his rank and grant him eternal mercy; mentioning a glimpse of the status of our beloved messenger ﷺ

I only write my name below so that it becomes placed next to the name of the beloved ﷺ and then his grandson, my teacher, who is praising him ﷺ

قصيدة العلامة السالك ولد سدينا رحمه الله تعالى في ذكر مقام سيد المرسلين ﷺ

كل مقام عنده مقال
يناسب المقام يارجال

مقام سيد الورى لايدرك
فعاجز عن دركه ذا مدرك

فلا تكلف نفسك المحالَ
يايها المسكين لامجالَ

درك مقام المرء صعب اذ يرام
من غير مشرف على ذاك المقام

فلا مقام يقرب المقامَ
لسيد الرسل ولاملاما

فسيد الأملاك جبرئيل
لم يدر كنهه وذا دليل

والصحب عند وصفهم يعبرون
لم أر قبله ولا بعد يكون

فارجع الى القرآن والأخبار
تجد عجائب بلا انحصار

نرجوا الشفاعة من المختار
فى هذه الدار وتلك الدار

صلى وسلم عليه الله
فما لنا من ملجا الّا هو

وءاله وصحبه الكرام
بهم ننال غاية المرام

In the name of Allah, The All Merciful, The Especially Merciful

May His Peace, blessings, honor, mercy, and elevation of status be upon our master Muhammad ﷺ and his noble family and companions

" Every occasion demands
An appropriate response o men

The lofty station of the master of creation is beyond comprehension
The one who is bewildered by it has understood

Do not take upon yourself an impossible task
Oh deficient person, you have no chance

Grasping the extent of such an individual is difficult
With no one fitting to compare to or explain its extent

For there is no rank that even draws near
To the master of the messengers, and that's perfectly natural

As the Archangel Gabriel himself (overwhelmed and fearing burning)
Couldn't even follow or know, and this is a proof

And the companions when describing would only be able to say
We have no one before or after him to compare

Simply refer to the Qur'aan and the narrations
You will find wonders innumerable

We seek the intercession of the chosen one
In this world and in that abode

May Allah grant His blessings and peace upon him
For we have no one to turn to but him

And upon his noble family and companions
Through them we attain the pinnacle of our wishes"
