Rochester Academy of Science Mineral Section
Formed in 1884, we're a 501(c)(3) for the purpose of educating our members and the public about mineralogy, geology and related topics.
Monthly meetings are held at 7:00 pm, the 3rd Tuesday of the month - January, February, March, May, June, September, October, November, and a Holiday Dinner Meeting that is held either the 1st or 2nd Saturday in December.

Road Trip! The Lancto property in Macomb? Milky white quartz crystals & massive calcite in the mossy humus. Easier to come by were the mosquitoes, poison ivy, horse flies, deer ticks(1) . . all on a 90F day! Andrew Z. had the find(s) of the day. Then it was off to see Robert Paul Rice followed by a new road cut (rose, rust, white calcite & ?quartz) that Jerry C. found.
