For the past month and a half Bruce Ken and I have been doing an addition to the shack to have some heated space to make things a little easyer. We also replaced the susical chimny we had that could have fallen over at any minute.

Well, thanks to an unexpected 600 gallons of sap that snuck in over night, we boiled 529 gallons of concentrate and processed 33 gallons of syrup today! That puts us at 149.3 gallons of syrup on the season, which is approximately 1.93 pounds of syrup per tap. Prime weather this coming week!!
Well, after some vacuum troubles Tuesday night, we had a great night last night! Boiled 467 gallons of concentrate and ended up making 34 gallons of syrup! That puts us at 125 gallons so far on the season, or roughly 1.61 pounds of syrup per tap!
Had a nice day boil today! We boiled 377 gallons of 7.5% concentrate and made 30 gallons of liquid gold! So far for the season, that puts us at 86 gallons total of syrup, which is approximately 1.1 pounds of syrup per tap on the year.
We’re back!!! After a year off, we are back in the woods of Vermont! Canned the first batch of syrup last night, the lightest we’ve ever made, but still not golden delicate!! We’ve boiled twice, put 1,095 gallons of concentrate through the arch and have canned 35 gallons of syrup! Now we put the trees to bed for at least 10 days.
First boil with the new RO last night!! Squeezed 650 gallons of raw sap into 330 gallons of concentrate. Boiled the concentrate plus another 100 gallons of sap that came in during the night. But most importantly, we made some sweet sweet gold!
