Christina performing textbook sumo deadlifts 💪
Sarah performing double KB stiff leg deadlifts 👍
Corrie performing back rack reverse lunges. She’s our first member to reach the 25th class milestone. Congrats on your consistency and commitment to fitness Corrie 👊🥳
Pheona, Nia, and Nia’s friend - a 15 pound plate 😂
Our 6am crew wakes up early to get after it 🔥
Corrie cycling hang squat cleans in the conditioning part of today’s class.
We occasionally incorporate weightlifting into our programming because the lifts can help build your strength, power, speed, coordination, and more! Plus, it’s challenging. It forces you to think and be engaged. The mind-body connection.
It takes time to get to the level Corrie is demonstrating here. Our coaches can get you there 👊
Daniel & Matt performing single arm kettlebell carries. So many benefits to heavy carries. The first that comes to our mind are you’ll be able to carry more groceries home 😉
Pheona building her lower body strength by performing tempo barbell front squats!
Will performing banded overhead tricep extensions. A great exercise for isolating & building the muscles of the triceps.
The biceps & triceps are used for pushing & pulling. It’s common to focus on the biceps and neglect the triceps. Not in our house! They work together. You should train them in balance.
Reni performing dumbbell sumo squats. It’s a squat with a wider stance. This stance emphasizes your glutes more and your quads less when compared to a traditional squat stance. Additionally, this wider foot position allows you to stay more upright when squatting, thus deemphasizing the lower back muscles (erectors spinae).
Ryan performing lying leg raises. A super effective exercise that feels easy during the first rep, but incredibly challenging after a bunch in a row. We like this exercise because:
-builds core strength
-targets lower abs (sit-ups & crunches, for example, don’t)
-works hip & low back flexibility
Christina performing a single arm overhead carry. She is improving her overhead stability, and building shoulder & core strength!
Veronica increasing her power (and strength, coordination, balance & body awareness) by performing hang power cleans with a barbell!
Nia putting in the work! Don’t let her fool you, our sleds are no joke. What’s cool about them:
-Residence is easily adjusted via a lever
-They are bi-directional
-No need to add plates on top
-We have ropes to attach for incorporating pulling
-And the faster you go, the more the resistance increases.
J.D. building his posterior chain (back, traps, glutes & hamstrings, plus hips & core!) through heavy deadlifts!
Jen is working on her upper body pulling strength & endurance though max effort sets of ring rows
