Christian Backes founded Ironworks Performance with the goal to provide the highest level of strength and performance training to the Denver area developing the top athletes in the state of Colorado.
Christian grew up in Aurora attending Grandview High School where he played football and basketball, ultimately deciding to play Division One football and Lacrosse at The University of Northern Colorado, after two short seasons, Christian moved on to play at the University of Wyoming but his career was cut short by concussions. This is when the love of giving back to the athletes became a reality.
Christian & Ironworks have become one of the top names in the state, developing a number of Division 1, 2, & 3 level athletes as well as quite a few JUCO prospects. Christian has also spent time working with MLB, MiLB, and NFL athletes. Currently Christian is the head of Strength and Conditioning For Mountain Range HS Lacrosse, Team 91 Northside Lacrosse, and works closely with Erie HS Lacrosse, Dawson Lacrosse, and Otero Junior College Baseball.
Each athlete that walks through the doors has the chance to play at the next level and will not only be prepared to compete, but be prepared to compete at the highest level, competing with the upper class-men in their respective sports.

Born and raised in Denver, Yared attended George Washington High School where he first began to develop his passion for athletics. Throughout his high school career, he participated in football, rugby, wrestling, and track. After finishing high school, Yared attended Colorado State University where he played rugby and received his bachelor’s degree in Zoology.
During his time at CSU Yared began educating himself in science-based weightlifting techniques and programming in order to improve his performance on the pitch. Applying his knowledge, he began training himself while coaching friends and classmates, teaching basic powerlifting techniques to maximize strength gains, while minimizing risk of injury.
Desiring to further his education in fitness, he joined Ironworks in early 2021 as an intern and within a year, earned his CSCS.
Yared has been on the Ironworks staff ever since taking a lead on athlete development and working with a number of athletes in the area including football players from Legacy & Broomfield HS as well as numerous other athletes and sport backgrounds!
