Our Travel program had an unforgettable weekend in the beautiful mountains of Steamboat! Our Friends enjoyed an exciting mix of activities, from shopping in charming local stores to exploring scenic hiking trails. They had a blast bowling and experiencing the thrill of a rodeo. Most importantly, they spent quality time together, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Today our gardening class had the pleasure of visiting our friend and long-time supporter Cheryl Townson ! We got to explore her amazing garden and learn some valuable tips and tricks of the trade. Seeing her success with fruits and vegetables like strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, and many others was truly inspiring. We even got to taste fresh basil and smell the delightful scent of rosemary! To top off an unforgettable morning, Cheryl gifted each of us a hens and chick succulent. Thank you, Cheryl, for sharing your passion and knowledge with us!

The Friends had a grand ol' time bowling this afternoon! 🎳 We were on a roll, striking up fun and knocking down pins like pros. Every frame was filled with laughter, high-fives, and plenty of spares. Nothing beats a day at the lanes with such a fantastic crew!

Thanks to our neighbors at Swisslog Healthcare, our Friend Michael, a longtime Rockies fan, got to sit club level and see behind the scenes at the broadcast booth this weekend.

He cheered on the Rockies to a 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals and picked up a new Rockies backpack to sport at FRIENDS Day Program.

Our Friends just got back from a wonderful trip to Lake Tahoe! They enjoyed breathtaking views while building friendships that will last a lifetime. Where will the Friends end up next?

A HUGE thank you to our dear friend Kayleen for treating us this past Friday to one of our personal favorites, root beer floats! 🍨 To no surprise, the floats were a hit, and we had a fantastic afternoon bonding with our friend. We're so grateful for her friendship and hope to see her again soon ❤.

Dancing is one of the most beautiful forms of expression. It creates social connection, relieves stress, improves health, and is a flat out good time. Today was all that and more! Friends and staff grooved to tunes from Taylor Swift to ABBA, closing out an epic hour of rug-cutting to the classic Kung Fu Fighting! What a wonderful afternoon spent on the dance floor with our closest friends. Shoutout to our Direct Support Professionals and DJ (Andrew aka Krumsy), for keeping our feet moving!

Today we welcomed our round 2 Medtronic Project 6 volunteers! Like last week's group, they joined our art class and started brainstorming ideas for a mural in one of our program spaces. For inspiration, they explored the vibrant murals around Broomfield at 128 & 120th and the one by 7-Eleven. Afterward, they teamed up with our Friends for an artistic think tank, envisioning themes like aspen trees, butterflies, mountains, inclusivity, and bright colors. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for their time and creativity! Stay tuned to see their artistry come to life over the next few months.

A group of the Friends visited Bubble Planet Experience , and it was out of this world! We immersed ourselves in bubbles like never before, journeyed through fantastical landscapes, and even took a ride on a hot air balloon flight simulator! From themed rooms to VR adventures, every corner was a sensory delight. Relive the magic through the photos below.

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with Medtronic for their Project 6 community engagement initiative! Over the next month, Medtronic employees will join our Tuesday morning painting classes to create masterpieces with our Friends. Our first volunteer day was a huge success! Shoutout to Jake and Andra for their wonderful support and for creating some stunning watercolor pieces. We just back from an incredible Seattle adventure with FRIENDS! From the bustling Public Market to the stunning Chihuly Gardens, a scenic boat ride, and the iconic Space Needle, we had a blast! 20 participants and 6 staff and volunteers enjoyed three days at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. We had opportunities to take a beautiful hike, sing around a campfire complete with S’mores, swim, paint ceramics, play putt putt and shop in downtown Estes Park. We saw a lot of wildlife and snowcapped mountains. We are so lucky to live in Colorado!

This past Thursday, the Friends, Staff, BeFRIEND Members, and Volunteer Vixens got down at our Silent Disco. We jammed out to 3 stations featuring country, classic rock, and pop hits of the 21st century. Holes were burned in the dance floor, rugs were cut, and a fantastic time was had by all. Special shoutout to Big Little Sound for providing us with the headphones and receivers!
