Strong like Noah
Three days shy of his fifth birthday Noah Arellano was hit head on by a vehicle. This is his story of recovery.
He quit breathing and no longer had a pulse and had to be revived and life flighted to Temple where he underwent immediate neurosurgery.
It’s been a little over two years since Noah’s accident where he was rescitated and had brain surgery. I remember thinking if he could just have some what of a normal childhood after all that had happened. So many miraculous things have happened with Noah and I’m so proud of the progress he has made.
Noahs surgery went great! He has been up and walking around and was moved out of ICU. We thank everyone for the prayers
Noah is in surgery currently! All prayers appreciated for things to go well for him..
Noah update! For those who were praying and giving love and support I wanted to give an update. Last year in May Noah was ran over and resuscitated. He underwent brain surgery where we were told the chances of him surviving were slim. He was put into a medically induced coma for a month and then spent the next six months in hospitals and rehabs making great strides. Today Noah started his first day of Kindergarten and continues to be a walking miracle! He still does not have half his skull, but on April 18 he will have an operation to place a titanium skull where the original bone was. Thank you for all the love and support.
This is a belated post, but Noah no longer has his feeding tube in! He took the liberty to pull it out himself, and since he's been doing so well eating by mouth, they decided to not put it back in. He's doing great in rehab and relearning a lot of those old skills like sitting up and using his left arm. In a couple of weeks they will take him back to the hospital where he'll have a skull graft done. Apparently the skull has two layers, so they will take one of those layers from a good part and transfer it to the areas where he no longer has his skull, and both parts will eventually grow back their second layers. God sure thought of everything when he made the human body!
Guess who went to rehab today?! After almost a month in the hospital Noah has been discharged to a rehab facility in Houston where he will be for an undetermined amount of time. Felipe told us that the nurse at the rehab had heard about him but didn't expect him to be this far along already! He has been such a trooper!
Noah started to drink out of a straw! This is big news because prior he was unable to suck or shallow and he was going to have surgery today to put in a peg tube for feedings. We're hoping that since he started to do this that they wont need to go through with his surgery!
One thing Noah was super proud of before his accident was his snapping ability. He has been gaining enough strength and coordination in his right arm to start snapping his fingers again! His left side and arm are slowly starting to move and gain strength.
These are a few photos of Noah over the last several weeks. Just yesterday they put a helmet on him to help protect his brain since his skull had been so badly fractured. He has made amazing progress and we have been so grateful for all the love and support that he has recieved from friends, family and the community. ❤

Noah Arellano is a fun, spunky, loving, and sporty little guy who is loved by all, but especially by his family!
Three days shy of his fifth birthday he was involved in a terrible car accident where he had to be revived, life flighted, and undergo immediate neurosurgery to survive. For the last three weeks he has been in a medically induced coma fighting for his life. While he has very recently woken up, we know that the road to recovery will be a very long and expensive journey. Any donations to help in his fight would be greatly appreciated! https://gofund.me/c8e996cf
