"Though I normally would send my greetings from Hungary where I live and serve as a missionary, now I am writing to you from Texas.
I am Andrea Kopataki.
I have been serving in Hungary as a missionary for ten years spreading the love and the knowledge of our God. My heart beats hard for children, so my area of service is mainly in Christian Education. I am the director of children's ministries at Danube International Church in Budapest and as such, I am responsible for the spiritual formation of children, the selection of curriculum, the recruitment and training of volunteers, the organization of Sunday School and other ministry events. I am also an educational therapist and social-emotional competency trainer working with children and families affected by various special needs at the International Christian School of Budapest (ICSB). My passion to encourage and help families struggling with the difficulties of raising a child with special needs grew out of my personal experiences with my daughter. I am called to help and to share the love of Jesus with the children, who often struggle to fit in and might feel they don't belong.
Both the school and the church serve many locals and internationals, but unique in the way that they provide the American missionary community a home base and an invaluable support in educating their children in English. Budapest has the headquarters of many mission agencies and is a hub for many in leadership who travel the region to serve Christians and support ministries in various capacities. Besides serving and having our own impact locally by helping all those missionaries to stay on the mission field, one can say that through them and through the next generation of Hungarian and international student body we are raising as Christ followers, we impact the world for Christ all over the globe.

Occasionally, I go abroad on mission trips and translate at special events or speak at educational conferences to share my knowledge of special education with other professionals in the region.

I am "on the ground" in Hungary passionate about everything the Lord leads me to do, but I am not on mission there alone. There is a team of people who share the vision of spreading the Gospel while providing emotional, educational and spiritual support and education to families whose kids struggle. Many are missionaries themselves and would need to leave the mission field if there was no adequate educational option and special services for their children. ICSB's Supplemental Services team, I am a part of, fills that need, keeping other missionaries on the field where they serve in various capacities."

Greeting Disciples!

We experienced another storm. Hurricane Beryl invaded Houston with strong winds and water. I’ve heard from many of you as you hunkered down, prepared for the worst, and prayed for the best.

As we assess our damages and rise above the last few days, I wanted to check in on each of you. Some of you have experienced damage to your homes and perhaps the church facility. If so, we want to share (remind) you of a few resources to assist in the recovery.
