Happy Independence Day!
There's no other day like the 4th of July—wishing you a relaxing day, however you choose to spend it... maybe down the shore.
Are you a runner? It's important to stay ahead of your thirst. Hydrate before you run, during your run and after your run.
Road Runners Club of America recommends drinking minimum of 10-15 ounces of water 10 to 15 minutes before you go for a run and ensure you remember to drink every 20 to 30 minutes during your run.
It's also crucial not to overdo it in this heat. When exhaustion kicks in it is easy to roll your ankle and set your fitness back - though we are always here to help speed up recovery.
We just received another great review on Google:

Wishing all those who celebrate a very Happy Father's Day.
Do you get up from your desk regularly to move around and stretch? 🚶♀️🚶
If not, it's time to set that timer and start doing so! ⏰
Taking short breaks throughout the day can help reduce the risk of poor posture, back pain, and decreased circulation. It also helps to alleviate muscle tension. Did you know that sitting down for long periods can shorten your hip flexors leading to sciatica? That's not fun at all!

Never put off seeking help if you injure yourself. Visiting a chiropractor as soon as you feel any pain can help alleviate the issue and avoid making it worse. For example, hip pain when playing golf could very well be due to a restricted range of motion, which can be helped with a chiropractic adjustment.

Keeping your spine healthy is crucial in so many ways. Incorporate these 5 simple tips into your everyday routine.
Runner’s Knee, also known as Patellofemoral, has several causes so it's important to get diagnosed before being treated. These causes can include overuse, misalignment of the knee or spine, weak or imbalanced thigh muscles, feet issues that impact the way you walk and run, chondromalacia patella (a condition where the cartilage breaks down), or even a direct hit to the knee.
At Bryn Mawr Wellness, we believe in getting the healing process started immediately, which is why - after assessment by Dr. Crooker - all patients are treated on the first day, unless we determine further testing is necessary prior to treatment.
