It's official... Bayou is now officially closed. Thanks to everyone for over four years of business. We'd like to thank our manager, bartenders, barbacks, security, door charge girls, and DJs for making Bayou one of the most popular bars in Buffalo. Even though we're sad to see it go, we're excited to see what the new ownership is going to do with the space and wish them the best of luck!

Word on the street is that 18+ "College Night" will be returning to Chippewa next weekend. Tonight all of downtown is still 21+ but Bayou will be offering the cheapest drinks on the street with $1 well drinks, $2 domestic bottled beer, and $3 shots!

The weekend starts tomorrow... we were the busiest bar on the street last Thursday. Who's ready to do it again?

Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting Bayou tonight. Now it's time for nightlife partygoers in Buffalo to rally together and support Chippewa bars by calling City Hall and demanding an end to the 18+ ban on Chippewa Street. Tonight alone saw the loss of literally $20k+ of revenue to the street. Not only are the bar owners affected but every staff member at every bar and local eatery (Mighty Taco, Jims Steakout, etc.) will be losing shifts if this ban continues. All the taxi cab drivers that bring people downtown will suffer. We need to end this ban and end it soon. Call Darius Pridgen, the Buffalo City Common Council member that represents the Chippewa area at 716-851-4980 and ask that the 18+ ban be lifted! Your call counts! Denying tens of thousands of Buffalo college students the ability to mingle with their friends in supervised downtown nightlife venues is economically irresponsible... Let's get this done!!

Not sure if everyone heard, but the Buffalo Common Council and the Mayor have arbitrarily decided to ban the bars/nightclubs on and around Chippewa Street from doing 18+ college nights on Thursdays. They have tried to draw a connection between violence by inner city hoodlums and college students patronizing bars. Buffalo is home to tens of thousands of college students and it's another economic blunder by the city to deny access by this group to parts of the city. For the record, every other bar in Buffalo is still allowed to do 18+ parties - just not Chippewa Street. Because of this, Bayou will be 21+ exclusively tonight until we can figure out how to overturn this legislation. If you are 18-20 years old and enjoy coming downtown to party with your friends on Thursdays, please contact your City Council member today. To all Bayou fans... if you don't know already, Bayou has recently gone through an ownership change and will be closing soon to be remodeled into a new bar/restaurant. Our original close date was supposed to be this Sunday but now we will be pushing it back til after Halloween. Anyone interested in booking a party until then is encouraged to message our page.
