It was originally named Roesch Memorial Stadium, though the name was changed to Grover Cleveland Stadium later in 1937 (honoring the former President and Buffalo public official) and then to Civic Stadium in 1938. The name was changed to War Memorial Stadium in 1960 when it served as the Buffalo Bills first home. It also served as former home of the Buffalo Bisons and currently home to area youth
“Hood taste of Buff” a total success! From Collard green egg rolls, ox tails, hibachi, pineapple bowls wine slushys and even infused fruit loops! Thank you to all who participated (over 150 vendors) and two thousand attendees over two days!!!! See you all next year first weekend in August with an even better event!!! (Thanks Benny the Butcher for dropping by!)

Today at JBW Stadium celebrating Johnnie B Wiley’s eldest daughter, birthday and remembrance of Joann Wiley wie will be given away, hamburgers, and hotdogs to the community because that’s what she would’ve wanted for her birthday. It was originally named Roesch Memorial Stadium, though the name was changed to Grover Cleveland Stadium later in 1937 (honoring the former President and Buffalo public official) and then to Civic Stadium in 1938. The name was changed to War Memorial Stadium in 1960 when it served as the Buffalo Bills first home. It also served as former home of the Buffalo Bisons and currently home to area youth sports teams. The field was named Johnnie B Wiley Amateur Athletic Sports Pavilion in 1997 to honor the life and work of Mr. Johnnie B Wiley. Mr. Wiley worked within the community influencing several youth. He was a community warrior who had the ability to inspire & motivate youth.
