We had our beginnings 1993 on Breckinridge at Elmwood and moved to the Tri-Main Center, 2495 Main Street in 1998, close to the Parkside area where the Frank Lloyd Wright/Darwin Martin property is, being among the first occupants of the newly renovated building. Impact is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and is the only gallery

I took a bicycle ride tonight. A balmy spring day had tortured me out of all inclination to work. I paused several miles north of Garfield and rested in a field of dry grass. The smell of newly-green sapling bark that has been cut came on the wind out of the south, a restless wind that blew out of the stars, where the Great Betelgeuse is. The dappled moonlit sky recalled Muddy pussy-willows, swirling streams, and mud-spattered boys with wild hair, running with dogs thru the rattling swamp grass. All the old desires are reborn tonight. The innocent desire of childhood for new spring flowers; the nomadic longings of adolescence; the desire for idyllic love that comes to youths, are all reborn and mingled with the more prosaic mundane longing of manhood, that is born of the old necessities of the earth.

Join educator Michaela, tomorrow in the Usuem Studio for Open Studio Saturdays. This month, the theme is Crochet Basics. Beginners are welcome to learn how to start crocheting, or if you are an experienced crocheter, share your knowledge or crafts.

Open Studio hours are 10:30 am - 4:00 pm every Saturday. All supplies included. The workshop is free with admission.
