6 Tips to make life EASIER: Diffusing edition

TURN ON YOUR BATHROOM FAN.
Most people aren’t going to use two blowdryers at home like I am here. What you can do is ensure you rotate the ambient air as you dry. Introducing lower humidity air into your drying area will shave off more time than you’d think.

Make sure to spread gel over every curl to create a true cast. If you skip this step you might lack the structure and control you crave. Frizz is usually one of two things: hair reaching for moisture or hairs that are waiting for their battle buddy assignments.

For the last 10 minutes of drying, use double prong hair clips along the hair line or interwoven pick combs to add volume.

Form a cast before you break it. Hover for the first few minutes to get a start on forming a cast. If you get in there too soon with your hands or diffuser bowl, you can disrupt your bends and twists before they have a chance to lock in their stance.

Don’t forgot to shake out your curls when they’re done drying. Soften it up with a few gentle squeezes.

If you have a piece (or sometimes a section) that is drying a bit wonky… re-wet that spot, scrunch, and dry again. There is no need to start over here! Sometimes even just a mist and scrunch does wonders!

Giving yourself a scalp massage can be a relaxing way to unwind and relieve tension. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you give yourself a soothing scalp massage:

1. **Set the Mood:** Find a comfortable and quiet space where you can relax without distractions. You might want to dim the lights, play some calming music, or diffuse essential oils to enhance the experience.

2. **Get into Position:** Sit comfortably in a chair or cross-legged on the floor. Make sure your back is straight and your shoulders are relaxed. You can also do this standing if that feels more comfortable for you.

3. **Prepare Your Hands:** Wash your hands, you don’t want to push dirt and bacteria into your scalp. Use warm water to warm the skin.

4. **Start at the Base:** Using the pads of your fingers, begin massaging your scalp at the base of your neck, right where your hairline starts. Apply gentle pressure and move your fingers in small circular motions.

5. **Work Your Way Up:** Gradually work your way up towards the top of your head, continuing to use circular motions. Focus on areas where you feel tension or tightness, such as around your temples or the crown of your head.

6. **Don’t Forget the Sides:** Pay attention to the sides of your head as well, near your ears. Use your fingertips to massage this area, applying gentle pressure and working in circular motions.

7. **Take Your Time:** Take your time with each stroke, and don’t rush through the massage. Focus on relaxing and enjoying the sensation of your fingers moving across your scalp.

8. **Finish with Deep Breaths:** Once you’re done, take a few deep breaths to center yourself and enjoy the feeling of relaxation that comes with a scalp massage.

Remember, the goal of a scalp massage is to relax and relieve tension, so listen to your body and adjust the pressure as needed. Enjoy the moment and treat yourself to some well-deserved self-care!
