Would you believe me if today I told you that I have been licensed for 20 YEARS? I’m from the era where we passed out business cards, postcards and booked appointments through a receptionist with a paper schedule. New clients found me by literally walking through the door of the salon, word-of-mouth and occasionally those postcards worked too… There was no such thing as social media. Clients picked out their haircuts and colors via outdated 80s/90s salon books and magazine - it was rough, believe me. This industry has evolved so much and I’m so blessed to do what I love!

GRATITUDE: Paying homage to a space that breaths life into my world is something I’m lucky to do each day. Expressing gratitude for the vibrant bustling atmosphere my space creates is a TRUE privilege. Every client who chooses our space and services is a testament to the formidable prowess of this elite team of stylists. Amid busy days, I cherish the quiet closure time – a chance to reflect, appreciate and prepare. It’s easy to burn out without it, impacting you and your team. Opening a salon on the cusp of a post-pandemic, I have strived to maintain excitement even on tough days. If there’s any advice you take from me, let it be this: remember, your space is meant to be a sanctuary; treat it as such!🪴

So secretly I love things that grow. I love that I have to see you again and again! And I love that my daisies come back every year 💐 I love the energy that new growth brings and how that (in my world) provides new possibilities and beauty!

Can you talk about these amazing curls?! These days I’m obsessed with perfecting my craft working with curly hair. (Secretly I love how it reminds me of plants! Crafting a shape that is done just one curl at a time is so satisfying 🌳).

During pregnancy, the fluctuation of hormones can actually increase melanin production and hair can begin darkening all on its own! But don’t worry you’ll get your natural color back post baby. Thankfully this “pregnancy band” in the natural hair doesn’t inhibit our work - it colors and lightens completely normally so no surprises here for ’s blonde dreams!

I’ve been to 24 countries on 3 continents. Most of the countries visited were with my dad!

Everyone always asks: what is your favorite country? Spain, of course! I studied abroad there and fell in love with everything!

What was my favorite trip? Cruising from Buenos Aries to Santiago, around Cape Horn and stopping all over Patagonia was the most memorable experience!

What was the most interesting country I’ve visited? Russia. What a fascinating place and what an appreciation I gained.

My amazing client was kind enough to turn me onto a website in 2020 where I got some fabric for my wedding table runners. She was even so kind to actually have made them from start to finish so when I mentioned making a few pillows to match our wallpaper at the salon, she graciously came through! I’m so lucky to be surrounded by talented friends ! The little details in the salon make me so happy 🌿

It’s a luxury to learn more about the beautiful people who you work next to everyday! And I’m lucky the gals take time away from their busy schedules to get to know each other too.

In college I always hated that we often got stuck in group assignments with unmotivated peeps and you didn’t get to choose who you would want to work with but now, I’m so grateful because I get to pick the most powerful people to be around me everyday!

Guess what? I have bad hair days too. (Little Allison and mama)
It’s been 5 years since mama passed away - it doesn’t really get easier. But I feel blessed everyone knows my journey and loss and shares stories about their mamas with me so I always feel like I get to continue experiencing friends who still have their mamas (and some who’ve passed too)🦋

Before opening Parlour Confessions, I spent 6 years at with an extremely dedicated owner who taught me LEADERSHIP in action. While I do have a Bachelors in Business Management, it isn’t until you experience powerful management to know what it’s like to fill some large shoes!

Hairstylist friends sweetly call me a NERD. I enjoy reading the small print on a product label and stating - “oh, this ingredient does this & that…” We are fed way too much false advertising via powerful marketing with sh*tty ingredients. I deeply enjoy learning and being in a team environment thriving amongst fellow professionals.

Oh and I have an awesome husband (who’s my business neighbor in case you need your bike worked on ), a 3.5 year old, a 1 year old and a dog. Blessed and busy- indefinitely.
