The WNET Group’s Youth Collective Film Festival: Submission Deadline Approaching!
Time is flying! The first submission deadline for The WNET Group’s Youth Collective Film Festival is March 15, 2023, and we’re excited to see your students’ films!
Here are the key things to know:
• The 2023 Festival theme is DEMOCRACY. We’re looking for short films that address democracy in all genres -- animation, short documentaries, comedy, drama, interpretative arts films, social media videos and more. We encourage filmmakers to think beyond politics to create thoughtful interpretations of what democracy means to them.
• Films created in 2020 or later can be submitted.
• While we’re accepting films up to 40 minutes in length, we’re far more interested in short films…even those under a minute!
• Selected films will be screened at our NYC festival on June 7th at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center at Lincoln Center. The deadline for our in-person festival is March 15th.
• Submissions will also be considered for distribution on public media broadcast and digital platforms. Films for the ongoing digital festival can be submitted through May 15th.
• Festival entry is free and open to filmmakers ages 13-25.
