It's been a summer of great memories!
The multi-species bite has been consistently good this summer!
From Bass to Pike and everything in between the bite has stayed hot.

It's been a busy season guiding but sometimes I get to wet a line!

It's been a busy summer so far! Seeing good numbers of fish, some size but a lot of smiles and a lot of laughs!
I'm pretty sure I have the best job in the world!

Photos from Muskies and More Guide Service's post 06/14/2024

"Size Matters" sure but numbers make the difference!
This past week we caught over 750 fish which averaged out to be 62.5 in a 4 hour trip.
Not too bad for the Metro..
Not too bad with wind and rain..
Making memories is what it's about!

Photos from Muskies and More Guide Service's post 06/10/2024

The fishing was "HOT" this past week!
Clients from India, Florida, California, Ohio, New Mexico, Russia and Minnesota found out just how good Metro Area fishing can be.
Size and numbers=Smiles and laughs!
Looking forward to this week's trips..

In my last video I talked about how simple presentations always catch the most fish! Well this weekend was no exception.
Having the weekend off due to a last minute cancellation, I decided to go to the big pond with my buddy Brady.
We used a slip bobber, small jig and a leech to absolutely pound the walleye!
We set up on a reef just outside Agate Bay in 17 fow.
We set our bobbers about a foot and a half off the bottom.
Despite the Sun being present most of the day the bite did not stop. A nice Westerly wind kept the Walleyes aggressive!
Message me for a custom trip to Mille Lacs Lake!
FYI-not one walleye we caught was under 17"!

Fishing was great this morning!
The weather, not so much.
We fished through steady rain and my Striker Vortex rain suit kept me warm and dry.
Client Justin has a good day catching Large mouth, Small mouth, Pumpkin seed, Blue Gill and Rockies.

Great day on Superior! Grandpa Steve's retirement party was a success.
Boated 11 Lakers and lost 5.
12 year old grandson Rocky caught 3 including the first and the largest.
They went home very happy with bags of fillets and many new memories!

Gavin caught the biggest Bass at 4lbs 8oz, the biggest Pike at 28", The biggest Crappie at 12.5", the biggest Pumpkin seed at 9 3/4" all personal best!!
Dad Jason caught the most fish with his biggest Bass at 4lbs even and enjoyed watching his son put on a clinic!

The Morton brothers had a great day on the water!
Walleye, Bass, Pike and Bluegill were caught with a PB Bass and Walleye!
Casting a Jig and Fathead with a slow retrieve was the hot combo.

Good morning everyone!
Adult boaters, PLEASE set a good example for the next generation..
I've witnessed several boats leave the dock with NO one wearing a life jacket.
I realize it's everyone's choice but
Life jackets do YOU NO good if they are put away and unaccessible!
Number one rule when operating a boat, SAFETY FIRST!

Those "Deep" Musky don't have a chance on Minnetonka! LOL
I've decided that life is too short and you have to follow your passions as much as you can.
I LOVE fishing Lake Superior and the Duluth area is my most favorite place on earth!
I'm going to spend as much time on the big lake as possible until I can't anymore!
Custom Guide Trips are a possibility!
Fishing with friends as well!
Thank you Peter Pustorino !

The walleyes are biting!
Who says you have to go up North to catch a good sized walleye??
Do it right here on Lake Minnetonka!
Lake Minnetonka through steady stocking efforts, has become an outstanding walleye fishery.
This fish measured out at 24" and was released to be caught again!

To all who venture out tomorrow, GOOD LUCK, be safe and have fun!

All the way from China.
Leo Chen and family including 6 week old baby boy "En" enjoyed a beautiful night on the water, learning, catching and making memories.
All though, only Leo spoke English, they all picked up the fishing technique fairly quickly and caught fish!

What a great Morning session! Mikaihla and Chase from Ohio found out just how good fishing in the Twin Cities can be! Over 55 fish caught with the biggest at 15" and the smallest at 9.5"!
We battle the rain and wind all morning but it was a consistent bite all four hours!

05/03/2024

Another great night!
Scouted tonight for upcoming trips.
Found them in 5-7' holding tight to w**ds.
They didn't want moving bait so used a slip B/Jig and plastic presentation.

Anglers hope better stocking can revive Minnesota’s muskie fishing 05/01/2024

I've been saying this for years!
More angler pressure +less stocking numbers = Less opportunities for trophy fish.
I'm a firm believer of that everyone who fishes should be taught proper handling of predator size fish as well! We we lose quite a few fish to improper handling.
But I will tell you what, they are sure fun to fish for and what a reward when you catch them!

Anglers hope better stocking can revive Minnesota’s muskie fishing Some anglers say Minnesota’s once-robust muskie fishery has declined in recent years, due to reduced stocking and increased pressure from anglers aided by the latest sonar technology.

After battling the Flu for 2 weeks I was finally able to get out and scout for upcoming trips.
Found them staged on the 6-7' break holding tight to cover. Water temp was 52 and they were active.
The males are still light color which tells me that we need warmer weather and they are not quite ready to make a push shallow(2-4').
I have a few dates available. Contact me if you'd like to get out!

04/06/2024

Patiently waiting for the lake water temps to warm. Still finding crappie in staging areas in 6 to 9 ft.
With warmer temps on the way these fish will move up into their pre-spawn areas.
Look for the males to start to turn "Black" soon!
I have a few dates open in April!

Crappies are "King" in the "Spring"!
If you'd like to catch more crappie in the spring fish shallow and look for the warmest water!
Shallow bays that warm quickly in the spring.
Crappie will always relate to structure if available, especially during the pre-spawn. Look for thick healthy w**d clumps, downed trees, depressions in flats, and year-round docks and you will find the fish!

03/17/2024

Despite 20-30 mph winds and colder temps the bite was good scouting on the Mississippi today. Crappies were suspended a few feet off the bottom and the eyes were tight to the bottom.
A simple slip bobber presentation worked well for both. Fatheads were the preferred bait.

Ice-out declared on Lake Minnetonka 03/14/2024

Looks like things will start ramping up on my end! Looking forward to the season!!

Ice-out declared on Lake Minnetonka The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office declared ice-out on Lake Minnetonka on Wednesday, just days shy of a record date amid a warm Minnesota winter. The declaration, made about 5:53 p.m. Wednesday, is the unofficial start of the boating season on the metro area's largest lake, the Sheriff's Office sa...

This Year's Ice Fishing Season May Be the Worst in MN 02/09/2024

I would have to agree with Glen.
I don't remember another ice season this bad.
Some Bait shops that were already in financial trouble are now stuck with too much inventory or have to close.
Good luck to everyone affected by this horrible economy and weather!

This Year's Ice Fishing Season May Be the Worst in MN Not everyone is fond of the warm weather in Central Minnesota this winter. Glen Schmitt from Outdoors News feels this could be the worst ice fishing season in Minnesota. He says last year's season wasn't good but this is worse.
