Whether you like to be outside this time of year by walking your dog, camping, playing in leaves, or hunting, be sure to remember tick exposure can occur year-round.
Ticks may be carried into the house on clothing, pets, or backpacks. Tumble dry clothes in a dryer on high heat for 10 minutes to kill ticks on dry clothing. Add extra dry time if the clothes are damp. Showering within two hours of coming inside has been shown to reduce the risk of getting Lyme disease because it may help wash off unattached ticks. Stay aware and conduct a full body check upon returning inside. Don’t let ticks spoil your outdoor time!
How many ticks can you find in the photo below?
