MAIE SURE YOU FLIP YOUR BALLOT OVER TO VOTE FOR THE LEVY!!! We’re on page 2 👍🏻

Ohio's fall election is fast-approaching, with the pandemic still in full swing. Election Day is scheduled for November 3, and the U.S. presidential race, all 16 Ohio congressional seats and many other state races will be on the ballot. Many Ohioans will choose to cast their vote via absentee ballots this fall. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is October 31 at 12 p.m., but you should send in your applicaiton as soon as possible.

You can get an absentee ballot in the following ways:

Go online and print your own absentee ballot request form.
Fill out the required information by hand on a blank sheet of paper.
Call your local board of elections and ask them to send you a form.
Or, if you're one of 8 million Ohioans already registered to vote, you may have received an absentee ballot request form in the mail from the Ohio Secretary of State's Office.
Whichever method you choose, you have to fill out and send the completed request form to your local board of elections, then wait for the board to mail back a ballot.

Instead of sending your absentee ballot through the mail, you can drop off your ballot in person at your county board of elections anytime before November 3 at 7:30 p.m. Each of Ohio's 88 election boards has a secure drop box for turning in ballots and ballot requests.

Voting on Election Day will happen at polling locations based on where voters live. Because of the pandemic, it’s possible some polling locations could move from where you're accustomed. The Secretary of State’s Office has a handy tool for looking up where voters are supposed to cast their ballot.

Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. However, as long as you are already in line when that deadline hits, Ohio law requires you to be allowed to vote – so make sure you stay in line!

Dear Fellow Community Members,

I am writing to ask you to please vote yes for the Children’s Services Levy on November 3. As a foster parent for Guernsey County, I have been a witness to the challenges facing the children of our community as we see the growing crisis caused by the drug epidemic that has ravaged our community and impacted the safety of our children. Since I first began my journey as a foster parent in 2010, we have seen the number of children in foster or kinship care, in our county more than double at a rate of 265%. The costs of maintaining their placements has increased 278% during the past 10 years. To help keep up with the rising costs of helping to meet the increasing needs of these sons and daughters of our community, a 2.9 mil levy is desperately needed. This would cost the owner of a $100,000 property an increased 14 cents per day. Think about that, less than a quarter of pocket change could make a world of difference for these kids! Remember, healthy, safe children are the hope for a positive future for Cambridge and Guernsey County! Thank you so much for your vote on November 3!

God Bless,

R. Alex Mullen
Guernsey County Foster Parent

Did you know our community can call Guernsey County Children Services if they have children in their home and do a REQUEST FOR SERVICES? A request for service is when a parent or guardian has a need for assistance (such as help paying rent 🏚 or a utility bill). The parent would need to first explore assistance through other community services, and our assistance would be dependent upon the seriousness of the issue, safety risk to the children and our agency's funds 💸 at that time. However, helping a family solve a barrier like this, helps prevent those children from coming into our care. Doing a request for service DOES NOT mean the family then has an open case with us💙 ✅👍🏻💙

10/08/2020

Did you know? We work with local agencies to refer families for the services they may need from mental health to addiction to developmental disabilities and more! It takes a village to raise our future generations and we’re committed to doing our part ✅👍🏻💙

10/06/2020

Did you know??? Don’t want to get stuck in line on Nov 3rd, but want to vote in person, starting Oct. 6 you can vote early, in-person at your County Board of Elections office. 🇺🇸✅👍🏻💙 With the country still in the midst of a pandemic, you can still vote-by-mail.

10/05/2020

Our current levy has been in place a decade...our community demographics, needs, and industries have changed so much in the last decade. The population of families served continues to grow and the number of children in care from 2009 has increased dramatically with a 278% increase in placement costs. Vote YES for CPS this November ✅👍🏻💙
