Throughout Women's History Month, OGE, GradDiversity uplifts the 2024 theme, "Women who Advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," as we recognize the great women who have devoted their lives to pursuing truth and innovation for the betterment of our society.
This month OGE, GradDiversity celebrates Black History Month, honoring the achievements, gifts, innovation, contributions and courage of African Americans.

Last night was a trip down memory lane. It was nice to see the familiar faces of the MIT Summer Research Program Alum at our Annual Boston Area Meet-Up!
The Associates of the Boston Public Library is proud to present Faces of Phillis, a free staged reading and panel discussion, as the fifth installment of the annual Pierce Performance Series. The one and only performance will take place on December 4th, from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM in the Boston Public Library's Rabb Hall.
Faces of Phillis will celebrate Phillis Wheatley Peters on the 250th anniversary of the publication of Phillis's groundbreaking book Poems of Various Subjects, Religious and Moral.

Join MIT’s Indigenous Community Monday 11/20 at 6pm in Lobdell for the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Myth-Busting Dinner. Learn about how events of the 1600s were spun into the American Thanksgiving Holiday, and about the stories told in the 1860s (when MIT was founded) that were mythologized through Hollywood Westerns.
Thursday 11/23 (Thanksgiving Day), join us for a bus trip to the National Indigenous Day of Mourning (NDOM) rally and march in Plymouth, MA. We meet at the bus turn-around outside W-20 at 10am, and depart Plymouth at 3pm.

Join Offices of Graduate Education (OGE) and Minority Education (OME) for a Patent Pathways Informational on Wednesday, April 26th, from 12:00 – 1:30 PM ET in 9-451. This workshop will explore the various paths to successful careers in patent law. Practicing patent professionals will share what it is like to work in the field. Participants in the Patent Pathways program will share their journey into the field and their experience in the program. Please note: attendees will join in person (9-451); however, the facilitators will be virtual as they are joining us from all over the country.
Patent Pathways is an entirely free virtual program that aims to increase the number of historically-underrepresented minorities practicing in the field. The program provides free patent bar preparation, patent drafting and prosecution training, mentorship from patent professionals, career development training and support, and internship and/or employment opportunities upon completion.

We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for MIT students interested in entrepreneurship and in exploring commercial applications of their research. The MIT-Pillar AI Collective Summer Fellowship Program is available for graduate students involved with a research group, and undergraduates who are UROP participants are eligible for the program.
The cost of the summer fellowship is fully covered by the program, including expenses needed to support customer discovery and early prototyping work. The AI Collective will conduct ideation workshops and support customer discovery through access to a network of industry leaders.
Students can apply with ideas they’re already working on or with no specific ideas. The program will consider any research with commercial potential in AI, ML and data science including hardware tools and software applications.

Join the OGE, GradDivesity, for a night of friendly competition and a virtual game show, Are You Smarter than an MSRPer? On Wednesday, March 29th, at 6 PM, hosted by Feet First Entertainment. This event is for Graduate Students.
The Virtual Game Show will include Family Feud, Pub Trivia, Name That Tune, or Name That Movie, and finish with a Scavenger Hunt - that might have you running around your house to collect and create a pyramid out of toilet paper rolls (among other things)!
