Eleanor is from 📍Atlanta, GA and is currently a sophomore at Rhodes College majoring in International Studies and Mandarin! 📚🧧She has been involved with Circle for over 5 years, first as the fundraising lead for the chapter, and now we are so ecstatic to have her join the MT as our Director of Fundraising!

Eleanor says, “I am really looking forward to meeting all of the chapters and working closely with our Board and donors, as well as expanding our fundraising platform to include some fresh faces! I’m so excited to have the opportunity to use my skills, showcase my passion, and learn and work hard alongside so many other amazing women this year!”

We’re kicking off with our very own Executive Director, Sarina Desai!! 💙💛

Sarina is from 📍 Atlanta, GA, and is currently a junior at the University of Michigan (go Blue!) Ⓜ️⭐️studying Industrial and Operational Engineering and statistics and sustainability! She has been a part of the Circle family for 7 years, and we are so grateful and excited to see her lead our MT this year!

Sarina says, “This year, I am looking forward to shaping the long-term focus and culture of the organization. As a leader, I want to bridge connections between our donors, chapters, MT, and board to work together as one team with a common mission in mind. I’m excited to collaborate with all of these groups to make this year a success!”

Through this initiative, students will receive assistance to help them access and complete their studies, ongoing tutoring, and personal development training. The girls will also have access to a computer lab, a library, and a multi-purpose classroom through Jou Nouvo’s new community center.

Last but certainly not least of our 2021 MT is Alicia Pan as our Director of Fundraising 🌟🌟 New to our team this year, she’s grateful for the opportunity to work directly with our MT and volunteers to develop new philanthropic enterprises. She hopes to continue implementing fundraising initiatives for our non-profit and assisting chapters in developing sustainable fundraising plans. Congrats, Alicia, we can’t wait to see all you will accomplish!

Presenting a new member to our MT is Annie Huycke as Director of Strategic Outreach 🌟🌟 She is passionate about Circle and its commitment to sustainability in each of its partnerships, and she is deeply excited about the meaningful connections Circle forms in uniting individuals and uplifting women across the world. Welcome Annie, we are so happy to have you!

Next in our 2021 LT introductions is Bessie Zhang who is continuing in her role as Director of IMS 🌟🌟 She greatly enjoys the mission of Circle and loves the idea of expanding the access of secondary education to girls around the world. She hopes to help Circle accomplish all its projects and reach its full potential by maintaining its core financial stability. Thanks for all you do, Bessie!

Our Northwestern chapter is hosting a live webinar with their own Professor Seema Jayachandran on the economics of male-skewed gender ratios in the developing world.

“Sex-selective abortion, female infanticide and low investment in the wellbeing of the girl child have created a population of “unwanted” girls, which Professor Jayachandran studied in her article, titled Unwanted: 21 Million Girls. Our webinar will delve deeper into this ethically and socio-economically important subject, and create a platform to mediate differing viewpoints.”

Next as our new Director of Public Relations is Ogechi Adele 🌟🌟 She hopes to continue building a cohesive, relevant presence for Circle through multiple forms of media and outreach to more donors and volunteers. Keep up the great work, Ogechi!

Up next and continuing her role as our Director of Project Management is Patricia Adaya 🌟🌟 As a female immigrant from a developing country, she knows that she is in a unique position of privilege to empower other girls and help them in attaining education. She is honored to be a part of Circle! Keep up the amazing work, Patricia!

Next role-change in our 2021 LT is Taylor Adams as our Director of Circumference 🌟🌟 When Taylor first joined Circle as a volunteer for the Yale chapter, she immediately resonated with Circle’s emphasis on locally-based solutions to combat gender inequity. This is gonna be a great year, we can tell!

Next up and stepping into a new role is Jessica Lao as our Director of Project Development🌟🌟🌟
She’s grateful for our group and the lessons it’s taught her about confidence, grit, and skills far beyond project management. We can’t to see all you will do, Jessica!
