The Center for Trait-Based Transformation
We are a nonprofit organization that focuses on helping individuals with substance use disorder.
I'm pleased to share some BIG NEWS!!🔥🎉
Optimal Living Services in Lexington, KY will be implementing the Trait-Based Model of Recovery for all their clients starting next month!! 💥
It is an honor to partner with this innovative and effective organization in helping them to carry out their mission of empowering their clients with the skills needed to be successful in life.
OLS will soon be helping their clients discover how they can 'Start from Strength!' across their 16 sober-living communities, through individual and group counseling, and as well through their peer support services!!
Thank you, Optimal Living Services, for allowing the The Center for Trait-Based Transformation to serve alongside you in helping many others experience positive and lasting life-transformation!
Today, we started 3 groups of clients through the Trait-Based Model of Recovery at 3 different locations in Kentucky, at 3 different levels of care.
RRJ Solutions, Kentucky Phoenix Project, and Isaiah House will facilitate Trait-Based across residential, outpatient, and sober-living communities.
This now means Trait-Based is in all the above-mentioned settings, plus drug courts, jails, private practice, online aftercare support, and will soon be introduced in schools this fall.
All this in the first year of the launch of the Center for Trait-Based Transformation! 🔥🙏
It takes all kinds of tools, and not one tool fits everybody, but the Trait-Based approach sure is connecting to a whole heck of a lot of people. And it’s making a big-time difference.
Thank you to those that have allowed us to be on this journey with you.
Through establishing and maintaining mental and emotional wellbeing built upon inner balance and self-awareness, we can harvest these superpowers known as traits within us to live as our authentic selves, lives of dignity, hope, purpose, and freedom.

‘Prevention programs that today’s leading experts say show the most promise teach kids how to manage their emotions, communicate with others, be resilient, and build healthy relationships.’
What does the Trait-Based Model of Prevention deliver? All of the above. 💯🔥💪
Officials Agree: Use Settlement Funds to Curb Youth Addiction. But the ‘How’ Gets Hairy. - KFF Health News Parents, educators, and elected officials agree that investing in school-based prevention efforts could help curb the rising rate of youth drug overdoses. The well-known D.A.R.E. program is one likely choice, but its effectiveness is in question.
We are here in Cincinnati, Ohio presenting the Trait-Based Model of Prevention!
The Victory Over Violence Conference addresses the safety and well-being of the whole child in the school and community by addressing social and emotional development issues and family engagement.
It is our desire that through this presentation, we can show how starting from strength instills worth and value in the lives of each student! We believe that by empowering the individual and highlighting their inherent strengths, students will be able to TRULY say no to substances and look inside for the fulfillment they seek.
This model will not only provide methods and strategies to prevent substance use but essential skills that will help students succeed in EVERY area of life!
Let’s do this! 💪🏼 🤩

Let's retire the harmful phrase 'once an addict, always an addict' and instead embrace a more compassionate and supportive approach that recognizes the capacity for positive change and personal growth. Let’s celebrate successes, support ongoing journeys, and choose words that empower and inspire hope!
Language matters. Certain phrases can perpetuate stigma, undermine progress, and impact self-esteem. Recovery is a journey of growth, resilience, and transformation.
Let's focus on empowering those in recovery. Celebrate their achievements, support their continued journey, and use language that uplifts and encourages. Together, we can create a more compassionate and supportive environment for everyone.
Referring to someone as just an “addict" never tells an accurate story.
We are proud to announce our partnership with All Together Recovery! This innovative and cutting-edge organization will open its doors this fall in Danville, KY. ATR will help people discover and develop their strengths while delivery positive and lasting life transformation!

Don’t wait to reach out for help! You don’t have to be at “rock bottom!”
If you feel you’re struggling, get help NOW!
A relapse happens in your mind WAY before you actually touch a drug or drink! Be vigilant, self-aware and stop it in its tracks!
Know how to use your traits!
The lines between empathy and codependency are blurred for many of us. It’s easy to know that you are feeling a lot, but are you feeling more than you have to? Here’s a quick breakdown between the two:
The Trait-Based Model of Recovery will show you how to take your inherent traits and pull them into the light to be used for good!
Self compassion. Let’s talk about it!
Experts tend to agree that one of the most influential factors of addiction is avoidance. We learn to skirt around, downplay, or suppress our own feelings. We scramble to get away from our TRUE selves, convinced that what we are feeling is wrong or unacceptable to society. This kind of message causes us to turn on ourselves – to believe we MUST be bad, unworthy, shameful, and worthless individuals. In truth, our initial addiction could be to self-hatred! 😱
We are commonly caught up in the feelings of self-loathing, even after becoming sober. In fact, self-hatred can grow to feel so natural we don’t even notice it anymore.
This creates a steady mental stream of self-criticism, negativity, and unrealistic expectations. It’s hard to grasp the monumental impact of this negativity, at least until we learn how to embrace self-compassion. 🤗
Here are 5 rules for cultivating more compassion for YOURSELF! 🫵
* Acknowledging mistakes, then letting them go 💨
* Remembering you are exactly where you need to be right now, don’t rush through life 🧘🏽
* Choosing to focus on self-growth rather than self-improvement 💡
* Speaking to and treating yourself as you would a dear friend ❤️
* Cutting yourself some slack, giving yourself permission to move on to better things 🙏🏻
You’ve been criticizing yourself for years. Has that worked? It’s time to show yourself some love and start from strength. Wouldn’t you agree?
We are welcoming 2024 with open hearts and a promise of renewed hope! Happy New Year from The Center for Trait-Based Transformation!
As we step into this fresh chapter, let's START FROM STRENGTH and embrace the journey ahead!
May this year bring healing, breakthroughs, and the empowerment to overcome challenges. Here's to a year of resilience, growth, and reclaiming hope.
You're not alone—we're here for you every step of the way.
