The soup kitchen allows us to build relationships each and every week. We hear people’s stories and walk alongside them through life’s victories and challenges.

We were made aware that one of the individuals that eats with us was concerned about their deck and stairs being unsafe outside their home. One of our volunteers happily stepped in to meet this need and volunteer his time, money, and effort to help this person!

THIS is what ministry is about. Getting to know people, loving them where they are, telling about the love Jesus has for them, and serving them.

We’ve had some amazing VOLUNTEERS these past few weeks!

To become prepared for the soup kitchen on Tuesday or Thursday there are two groups:
GROUP 1: 1-4pm; food preparation
GROUP 2: 4:30-7:30pm; serving, and clean up

Our volunteers step up in huge ways every week - and we couldn’t do it without food donations, monthly re-occurring donations, and groups of people that give their time! 🍽️

There is always room for YOU or a group that you are part of to serve! If you are interested,
we would ask that you are able to serve at least one time per month or more if able! This can be groups of people or individuals.

‼️Follow the link below to fill out a volunteer form if you are interested at all in volunteering in this way. After you fill out the form, one of our staff will be in touch with you to confirm the date(s) when you will be coming. ‼️

We are still in need of several items to complete our “Blessing Bags”. These bags are handed out to unhoused individuals or individuals with hygiene needs! 🧼

Donations can be dropped off at our office located at 624 East Broadway St. across from Little Caesar’s Pizza in Campbellsville during business hours. Our business hours are 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. THANK YOU! 🥳

This week’s Hometown Connect Soup Kitchen menu! The soup kitchen is located at Campbellsville Baptist Church, 420 North Central Avenue in Campbellsville. Please share with anyone you know in need of a warm, free meal! Dinner is served at 6pm. 🤍

FYI: Today, Tuesday, August 20th Campbellsville Baptist Church will be repaving their parking lot. Parking will be a little bit different and the awning drive thru area will be roped off. Our volunteers will be there to help direct you!

🏠HOME: This section is about our mission to provide shelter, support, and hope to those experiencing homelessness - this includes meals from our soup kitchen! 🍴

🏥HEALTH: Many individuals face challenges accessing quality healthcare. Hometown Connect is committed to addressing this issue by connecting the community to essential medical services and resources!

Photo 1: Amazon donated a lot of shoes for our back to school event - and you can too!!! Drop of your new or like-new shoes to Hometown Connect, or there’s a drop off at Hometown Pharmacy!! Let’s help some families out as they go back to school! 👟🤩 thank you Amazon for getting our donation pile going!

Photo 2: This Ingersoll Rand team came and served in a BIG way after we received a very sizable donation. They worked tirelessly preparing and delivering meals, serving and helping to clean up afterwards! Over 500 meals were able to be served and delivered due to our donation and their hard work. So grateful for them! 🎉

Photo 3: Brandy McCubbin and her family donated sweet corn for the soup kitchen straight from their farm!! Talk about farm to table!! 🌽😍

There’s been a theme reoccurring lately - people using what they have to SERVE! Whether that’s their time, their skills, donating items, becoming a monthly donor, etc. There’s always room for you to use what you have too!! 🤍

Here is what that client, Mary Gribbens had to say about the project: “I want to thank Hometown Connect for helping me get donations to help build a ramp for my new mobile home. I am legally blind and don't navigate steps too well. I appreciate Hometown Connect connections for sending James Washington. To build the ramp, he did a wonderful job thank you." 😭🎉

We are so GRATEFUL to have so many supportive partners, volunteers and donors!

It really does make a KINGDOM impact in the lives of our clients we serve each day!

Today a HUGE blessing came our way, but with it a HUGE logistical issue as well! But TEAMWORK makes the DREAM WORK and with tons of combined forces, we were able to accomplish our mission for the day!

Exciting news!! 🎉🎉🎉

Hometown Connect is hosting a back to school event to assist local families as they gather things they need for a new school year and we want to partner with YOU!! ✏️📓👟

Local businesses, vendors, organizations, clubs, churches, etc. are all invited to join with us to make this event special for these families. 🤍

We already have several amazing partners:

-Taylor Regional Hospital donating shoes, school supplies, and personal items😃

-Digging Wells Ministry collecting donations for this event ✨

-Pittman Valley Baptist Church VBS penny war with a donation 🎉

Hometown Connect was blessed to have
Goodwill Industries of Kentucky Mission Integrated Career Coach Tj Conrad come alongside us during Hometown Connect’s Re-Entry Planning class.

Tj shared his testimony of addiction recovery and to reveal all the wonderful resources they offer. Goodwill is known by many for their inexpensive but also quality purchases of an array of clothing, furniture and even books, but this industry is so much more than a thrift store. Goodwill offers programs to further men and women in their careers with programs such as housing assistance, career coaching, second chance employment, cars to work programs and so many more opportunities.

At Hometown Connect, it is our prayer that God will use our ministry to connect us with and walk alongside resources such as Goodwill, to make even more of an impact on the most vulnerable individuals when they need it most. Thank you Goodwill and others like you for making a difference in so many people's lives, and thank you Tj for sharing at the re-entry class!

We’ve had more amazing volunteers at the soup kitchen of all ages serving with all their hearts. Thank you for the ways that you give and serve people who need it the most. 🤍

This past week we also recognized outgoing members of our Hometown Connect board. Some of these individuals are pictured below, and some are not, but we are so grateful for their service, prayers, and guidance of this ministry.
