How does a kidney get placed in your body for transplant?
During kidney transplant surgery, the donor kidney is placed in the lower abdomen. Blood vessels of the new kidney are attached to blood vessels in the lower part of the abdomen, just above one of the legs. The new kidney's duct through which urine passes to the bladder, called the ureter, is joined to the bladder. That’s right, the new kidney is in the front not the back!

Such and honor to be asked to Share my Kidney Journey for National Kidney Foundation . I’m so nervous and excited at the same time . I have been so blessed by two beautiful selfless women who gave me my second chance at life . If i can help one person , hang on to hope that their miracle is coming , it will be a blessing .
