🙌 Matthew Orndorff 🙌 joined Independent Pipe in April 2023 as a Warehouse/Driver at our Burlington, VT branch and recently transitioned into a new role as an Inside Sales Representative in June 2024.

Originally from Burlington, Matt attended Burlington High School. Before his role at IPS, he worked in fast food and warehouse positions.

🙌 Dan Phillips joined Independent Pipe on June 17th, 2024 as a Sales Associate in the Windsor, CT branch. Dan’s roots lie in South Windsor so after graduating high school he stayed local to follow his passion for HVAC/R design & sales. He learned his craft at the regional wholesalers through training seminars and manufacturer certification classes. Dan is certified by the ESCO institute to proctor EPA 608 & A2L certification exams throughout New England.

Dan’s knowledge and motivation to succeed has had a great impact in the branch. Brian Olesnevich, the Windsor Branch Manager, stated “Dan is energetic and has been an amazing addition to our team”.

Dan has excelled at learning the mechanical PVF side of the industry and as he says “it’s been challenging breaking into a new side of the industry but I am fortunate to be based in a robust & efficient branch, surrounded by experienced colleagues who are eager to support me. I am looking forward to getting to know more of the customer base so I can service their needs with our extensive resources and deep inventory.”

Dan lives with his fiancé’ Jackie and Jake, their two year old chocolate Labrador retriever. In his free time Dan enjoys reading by the fireplace, experimenting with old family recipes and kayaking in the local rivers and lakes.

🙌 Ryan Connolly-Stringer joined Independent Pipe in March 2024 as a Warehouse/Driver in Canton, MA. Originally from Bourne, MA, he attended Upper Cape Tech for high school and UMass Lowell for his bachelor’s degree. Prior to his role at IPS, he worked as a Class A CDL Driver handling final mile, high-value deliveries. With six years of experience in warehousing and logistics, Ryan is a valuable addition to our Canton Warehouse management team.

We are very excited to have Ryan as part of our Canton Warehouse management team! He brings solid management experience to IPS, along with an exceptional attention to detail skill set, which will lead him down the path of success for himself and the company. His future here at Independent Pipe looks very bright, not only for his current position but also for any other position within the company that might come along.

Ryan is thrilled about the opportunity IPS has given him to step into a new role and expand his knowledge in the warehouse. He is eager to work with a team of experienced individuals who can guide him to reach his full potential. Kevin Smith joined Independent Pipe in October 2023 as an Outside Sales Representative in Albany, New York. Growing up in Clifton Park, New York, Kevin graduated from SUNY Oneonta and earned his MBA from Fordham University and University of Albany. He previously worked as an Account Executive at Grainger, Iron Mountain, in purchasing at Brown Brothers Harriman and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Kevin shared, “At IPS Albany, I’ve seen strong bonds with our customers. There’s a sense of pride in caring for everyone who contacts us. I’m fortunate to have supportive colleagues guiding me, and I look forward to contributing to our growth in Albany.”
Kevin’s commitment to problem-solving has quickly become a valuable asset. His dedication and willingness to go the extra mile will undoubtedly drive the company's growth.

Outside of work, Kevin’s life revolves around his family. He and his wife Cathie, together for 25 years, live in Clifton Park with their four children and their golden retriever, Bailey. Kevin enjoys bass fishing on Lake George, coaching and playing soccer, and rooting for the Manchester City soccer club. He loves music, attending concerts, and has run several NYC Marathons and is aiming for the Boston Marathon next year. As the youngest of seven kids, he cherishes time with his large extended family in the Northeast.

Carlos Soto joined our Equipment Division in August of 2023. Originally from Puerto Rico, Carlos moved to the United States when he was 8 years old and grew up in Lynn, MA, where he graduated from Lynn English High School. Carlos is a pleasure to work with and he is always ready to advance his knowledge of new products to bring more value to the customers. Carlos brings a wealth of experience to our team having previously worked in Administration/Customer Service, Credit & Collections, and Business Operations.

When asked about his experience with the company Carlos stated, “I work with a great group in the Manchester branch and couldn’t be happier to be part of the team. They have made me feel welcome from day one. I’m new to the business so I am learning something new every day. The work here is both challenging and rewarding. Everyone I work with is always willing to assist me with any help I need. My future goal is to grow with the company & strive to position the Manchester branch on top.”

Carlos resides in Manchester, New Hampshire. He has three children, Carlos Jr., Anthony, and Annalise Soto, and four grandchildren. His outside passion is coaching football at the local High School and spending quality time with the whole family.
