I haven't posted on my Astrology-Classescom page for a long time. Now that the summer is winding down, I hope to have a little more time to connect. Here is an excerpt from my August newsletter regarding the current planetary energy. The transits will be especially meaningful to you if they make contact with any of your natal planets.

With the sign of Leo in focus and the planets Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus all active and making connections with each other, it is certainly not a boring time. It's a great time to take action and to make progress.

However, caution is advised. Mars can bring accidents and lots of anger, especially since Uranus is also active. Jupiter can bring big breakthroughs, but also over confidence and unrealistic expectations. Saturn tames Mars and Jupiter but can magnify any feelings of limitation or self doubt. Of course, Uranus is the wild card. It brings breakthroughs, but also breakdowns. These energies will be especially strong at the full Moon on August 19.

Expect the unexpected.

August 14: Mercury Enters Leo. Mars Conjunct Jupiter at 16 Degrees Gemini. Mercury in Leo brings clear thoughts with a touch of fun and optimism. Mars conjunct Jupiter in Gemini amps up your decision making ability. Both Mercury in Leo and Mars conjunct Jupiter benefit negotiations and bring the ability to settle disputes. The caveat is that you might be feeling extra rebellious toward authority figures. This is not the time to confront authority figures. Mars in Gemini can mean “angry words” and Mercury in Leo can make you indiscrete in what you say.

August 16: Mars Square Saturn at 17 Degrees Gemini/Pisces. Mars square Saturn is much different than Mars conjunct Jupiter on August 14. Saturn dampens the mood and points out our limitations and restrictions. Mars in stressful aspect to Saturn can cause you to lash out at others rather than trying to work out a solution. In addition, Saturn in Pisces adds a certain amount of fogginess and uncertainty to issues. Tread carefully.

August 18: Sun Conjunct Mercury Square Uranus at 27 Degrees Leo/Ta**us. Anything goes when the Sun and Mercury are conjunct and square Uranus. The Sun conjunct Mercury makes you more talkative. Sun and Mercury square Uranus brings sudden insights and brilliant ideas can pop up out of the blue (Mercury and Uranus). Unpredictable Uranus is strong all month. Uranus transits urge you to go-with-the flow as surprises are the norm.

I will be teaching an eight-week astrology class beginning Wednesday, January 24 through March 13, 2024, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Mountain Standard Time.

This class is for total newbies, and for those who know some astrology, but have a hard time putting it all together.

We will start with the basics including:

What is a Zodiac chart?
What are the houses and what do they mean?
How do the signs express in the houses and what do the signs mean?
What do the planets do and what do they mean in a chart?
What are planetary transits and how do they affect you?

By the end of the class, you will be able to read and understand your birth chart and to have a basic understanding of how transits affect you.

The last 30 minutes of each class will be devoted to looking at your individual astrology charts and to answering your astrological questions. Since I firmly believe that you learn best by doing, all students will be expected to participate in delineating each other’s charts.

I need at least six people to sign up for the class, so tell all your friends and relatives. The more people there are the more we learn from each other.

Fiery, action-oriented Mars moved into Capricorn on January 4, 2024. Mars likes being in Capricorn, the sign of hard work, realistic expectations and success. It is said to be “exalted” when in Capricorn. Mars in Capricorn until February 12 is a great time to finish old projects and to begin something new. The warrior drive of Mars coupled with the steadiness of Capricorn promises a high likelihood of success.

February 1: New Moon at 12 Degrees Aquarius. What a wonderful combination of symbols we have with this Aquarius New Moon. A New Moon is about starting over, starting new projects and new breakthroughs. The New Moon falling on the first day of February amplifies the symbology.

The New Moon/Sun conjunction is also conjunct Saturn in Aquarius and square Uranus in Ta**us. Uranus is about breaking free, light bulb ideas and throwing off limitations. Saturn conjunct the Aquarius New Moon, acts as a stabilizing influence, keeping you from going too far too quickly. Pluto in Capricorn trine the North Node in Ta**us urges you to take back your power (Pluto) in order to express your heart’s desire and life purpose (North Node). Use this dynamic New Moon in Aquarius to boldly move forward with new plans.

Gemini Full Moon December 18, 2021

On December 18 we will experience the Full Moon at 27 Degrees Gemini/Sagittarius. Time to “speak your truth” under the Gemini Full Moon (opposite the Sagittarius Sun). You may receive exactly the information you were searching for. Because the Gemini Full Moon is trine Jupiter in Aquarius, be alert to any sudden flashes of insight that come your way. Gemini, as a dual sign, can present choices that need to be made. “Shall I go?” or “Shall I stay?” or “What shall I keep?” and “What shall I let go of?” Jupiter can bring a layer of protection in whatever choice you make.

November 21: Sun Enters Sagittarius.
November 24: Mercury Enters Sagittarius.

The Sun enters Sagittarius on the 21st, followed by Mercury on the 24th. The mood lightens and a few golden rays of optimism filter into our consciousness. Mercury, the planet of communication and coordination, moves to an easy sextile connection to Pluto, the planet of power and deep connection. Mercury sextile Pluto gives you the ability to look beneath outer appearances to discern the Truth. Use this helpful energy to examine, scrutinize and probe the deeper mysteries through the middle of December.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on November 19 urges you to wrap up loose ends and let go of those people, places and things that no longer serve you. We each have an inner knowing when the things around us are no longer helpful, or are even destructive to us. Your intuition is at an all-time high now, so use that sixth sense to guide you in your transformation. The veil between the material world as we know it and the unseen world of intuition is always strong during an eclipse. When the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is on the Ta**us/Scorpio axis, it raises your intuition several fold. This eclipse opens the gateway to transformation that will be felt for the next two years as we continue to have eclipses along the Ta**us/Scorpio axis.

The Aquarius Full Moon at 1 degree Aquarius on July 23rd emphasizes humanity, breakthroughs and freedom. Over the next 28-day Moon cycle as we experience the Full Moon, free your mind to let go of pre-conceived ideas and dare to think with a fresh outlook.

An Aquarius Full Moon brings our attention to the community at large (including the global community) and reminds us that we are each part of something larger than ourselves. Under the Full Moon in Aquarius, contemplate how that homeless person, that misfit, that person of a different race or sexual orientation that you avoid is really your brother or sister in disguise.

Ask yourself: What does the concept of humanity mean to me? Is it more important to me to give my time and resources to those close to me or to humanity in general? What is the true meaning of a friend? Can I be true to myself while taking part in a group endeavor.

Enjoy stimulating conversations among like-minded friends under this sociable Full Moon in Aquarius. Abstract, free flowing thoughts and conversations can bring amazing breakthroughs under an Aquarius Full Moon.

The Cancer New Moon gives you a fresh start to better connect with your family and to nurture yourself. This New Moon emphasizes your emotions and your need to give and receive care and nurturing. Most of us are pretty good at caring for others, but not so good at nurturing ourselves During this emotion-filled New Moon in Cancer take time to think about how (or IF) you are nurturing yourself. Ask yourself what you need to nourish not only your body, but also your spirit, mind, heart and soul. If possible, spend time near water as you contemplate the wisdom of this New Moon as it starts a new cycle around fulfilling your deepest needs and desires.

I love this Full Moon release. It is like a monthly cleansing for your emotions and soul.

Time to evaluate your plans and to let go of the things that are holding you back.

June 10: Solar Eclipse at 19:47 Degrees Gemini.
Sun Conjunct Mercury at 20 Degrees Gemini Square Neptune at 23 Degrees Pisces. I have heard from many people that the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius was challenging for them. Full Moons, and especially a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, mean that something in your life has reached fruition. It is time to let it go and to clear your psyche so the new can enter at the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini.

So much has changed over the last year and many of you are feeling out of sync, unsettled and rudderless. However, over the next six months you will understand that the Eclipses have helped you gather and evaluate new ideas that will propel you forward in a beneficial way. The Gemini Solar Eclipse focuses on better ways of communicating, new ideas, new plans and new ways of expressing yourself. Let the “new” energy percolate until after Mercury turns direct on June 24; then let it shine and manifest.

In addition, the ongoing square between Saturn and Uranus moves to a closer-than-ever conjunction. This square has been with us all year and will continue in varying degrees of magnitude through the end of the year. When the planets move closer together it ramps up the intensity. If you have put off making a needed change in your life, the eclipses and the close Saturn/Uranus square may be just what you need to revamp your life.

May 26: Full Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse at 5 Degrees Sagittarius/Gemini.
This Sagittarius Full Moon has entirely different vibes than last month’s Scorpio Full Moon. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is much more light hearted and playful. All full Moons are emotional, but this one is more geared toward playfulness, partying and communication. The Sun and Moon are square Jupiter in Pisces, which brings a challenge around over exuberance, exaggeration and a tendency to throw caution to the winds. Be aware, and if going out be sure to have a designated driver. Those with personal planets from 0 to 10 degrees of the mutable signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo) will feel this Sagittarius Full Moon most strongly.

Simultaneously with the full Moon lunar eclipse, Venus and Mercury are square Neptune. This can add an element of confusion and mistrust to the energy of the eclipse. With the Moon in Sagittarius, the sign of truth and beliefs, vow to speak your own truth and to focus on understanding how your truth meshes with those around you.

Also, with Saturn (limitation) squaring Uranus (the new and exciting), let go of limiting ideas and beliefs. Doing so lets you move toward a freer way of being and thinking.

It’s best not to push too hard to make changes now. Mercury and Venus will soon move retrograde. Let the retrograde assist you in letting the energy unfold as it will without stress or undue forcing. The new energy will flow in at the New Moon Solar Eclipse on June 10 at 19 degrees Gemini.
